Vet Finds 62 Hairbands, 8 Pairs of Underwear Inside Dog

We had a puppy once who ate a Gillette razor. He got to spend the night at the vets in case it sliced something as he was passing it.

My older nephew, as deaf as I am (he's pictured with me somewhere else in here), got his hearing aids through the VA. One morning he found one of the aids on the floor, it's "guts" protruding, fine wire, etc. The CAT had chewed it to smithereens overnight!

Surprisingly, the VA, asking what had happened to it, told the truth, gave him a new one, no charge! imp

What is it with cats and wires? Everyone of our computer cords has teeth marks in it and every time Ziggy jumps up on our laps, the first thing he goes for if they're laying on the table or desk is the earbuds.

They say many animals like plastic to teethe. Utilities have had problems with rodents like squirrels chewing cable above ground and rats chewing underground cables. That's why puppies especially chew anything hard including furniture legs, they're probably teething and not revolting.

Many mobile home fires are attributed to rodents chewing electrical wires..

My vet has a poster type thing in her front office with the x-rays showing things that dogs have eaten, along with a warning about the awful problems ingesting foreign objects can cause. Evidently articles of clothing are one of the favorites.

Wife's cousin's son has a large mixed-breed mongrel. Good dog... sorta. They had removed some carpet from a basement room to replace with new. The old carpet was left rolled up in a basement storage room. The dog ate a quite large chunk off the old carpet roll. The next day, the dog would be walking around the back yard with carpet pieces hanging out of you-know-where. Wife's cousin said she could not resist laughing watching her son running around behind the dog pulling carpet shreds from his behind. Evidently, the carpet all passed and the dog is still part of their family.

There have been days, after eating a boatload of jalapenos that I have wished for some padding/insulation in parts of my anatomy. Perhaps the dog wanted the same!!:)
