Is Your Food Dehydrator Quieter Than This ??

My Nesco is louder than my American Harvest. The latter just sounds like a fan running. Not real quiet but not motor noise.
Edit: Does Nesco make American Harvest? I didn't realize. The one without Nesco on it is quieter.

My step-daughter gave me that as a present, probably about 15 years ago...still runs great. I plugged it in to double-check the dBA, it's louder than I recalled, maybe 45-50 dBA.

Edit: I put it in the garage when I'm drying Habaneros as the fumes are like pepper spray.

Haha, I made the mistake of pan roasting some dried hot peppers in the house one time! Lesson learned.
 
Fan noise I can live with, it's motor whine that is a showstopper for me.

Nesco is on the lists of quiet dehydrators that I can find with search engines and looks to be a good choice.
But the one I'm looking closely at right now is the COSORI Food Dehydrator
It's said to be 48db which is about like the Nesco but the Cosori is an Amazon #1 Best Seller
Not expandable like the Nesco though.

So does anyone have a Cosori 600Watt ?? There are almost 18,000 ratings for it on Amazon
... almost 14,000 ratings for the Nesco too though

Might just come down to if I want expandable or not, stainless or plastic
 
My oven has a dehydrator installed, had the stove several years before I discovered that feature. Problem is it actually dries things super dry!
 
The Cosori Dehydrator arrived today. It's quiet ... well, pleasant white noise not heard after leaving the room.
Video is with the refrigerator running and I briefly fired up the microwave for a comparison.
And the spot it's in under that cabinet next to the refrigerator also reflects sound.
Chicken Jerky for my dog in the works and only 5hrs 43 left to go ... maybe
Every jerky recipe that comes with, calls for 6hrs in the dehydrator ... meat sliced 5mm thick

 
Alls I hear is fan noise, air moving, no motor whining like my old dehydrator.
A deep mellow tone like white noise. I could go to sleep with this thing running :ROFLMAO:

My old dehydrator I could hear all over the house. The Cosori only when I'm in the room it's in.

My current desktop computer is fanless and it's been years, but I think the Cosori MAY be a smidge slightly louder than my old desktop fan cooled computers, but not very much and certainly not annoying or distracting. Doesn't impact conversations at all either.

Bottom line is I'm very happy with the Cosori :)
