National Root Beer Day - June 17th

I never drink soda, but when young I did.

Do any of them still make it from roots like sarsaparilla? I think nor but I keep looking.
Here's a link to Wiki... sassafras is mentioned along with sarsaparilla. (?)
A chemical in the soda was banned as cancer-causing. I'm too lazy to figure it all out.....

Hey, thanks. I will check it out. Sometimes "cancer causing" is just and excuse to make a cheaper product. Of course if its true we wouldn't want it in our beverage.
 
It looks like the ingredient safrole can cause liver cancer in rats in high doses. I guess better safe than sorry.
