How do you get up in the morning?

When I wake up in the morning, I'm warm and comfy. I don't want to get out of bed. I am not one of those lousy cheerful people, who hop out of bed with a smile to greet the day. UGH!!! I'm more like Dracula crawling out of the coffin into the bright sun light.

Must admit I'd prefer to stay in bed a bit longer, but one has to consider the neighbours.... don't want them to think I'm a slob ;)

When I lived with whoever, I wasn't the most cheerful, until they gave me a cuppa in bed before they went to work .... then I was fine.
Since I've been on my own I just get up, say 'morning' to the teddies and get on neither cheerful or cheerless.

But if I see a spider I scream loudly. 😧

🧛‍♂️ Dracula and that cute fuzzy teddy bear avatar 🧸 don't really seem to go together.... so bet you're pulling our collective legs! As for me... I don't sleep much so when it's finally a half-decent time to get up (4 a.m. usually) I just jump up, load up the laptop, make coffee, and am very glad that the night is over. And yes, I'm one of those "lousy cheerful people" you mentioned.

Ha. :) Get up in the dark. Dress in the dark. Even the least lumen of light disturbs Sharon's sleep pattern. Not a good thing to do. Then stumble down the hall in the dark, closing hallway doors behind me so not the least lumen of light enters the master bedroom. Then, AT LAST, the kitchen where a light gets turned on and morning coffee put on the boil.

Slowly and carefully since I have doggies sleeping with me.
I usually got up when my doggies were ready in the morning, usually at a time where I just stayed up myself. The new pup is sleeping with us now, usually on my side or right in the middle. When he starts to stir, which is around 7 am, I'll let him out and get up myself. Sometimes we both get back in bed for another forty winks. 😉

I also let the dogs out early if needed but generally they both sleep through the night. My husband usually wakes up way earlier than me , especially since I’m now on meds.

Open or shut shades to let more or less light in, depending on what the sun is doing
Have breakfast
Join my family online to play Wordle, Connections, Strands, and with one daughter, Words With Friends. And sometimes to chat about stuff
Do stretching exercises
Get on the computer. come to this forum and others
Shower, get dressed
Get on with my day

Most days are like that. I try to avoid early appointments; I am not a morning person.

Depends on the day of the week. So I look at my phone to see what day of the week it is.
1. Stretch and sit up on the edge of the bed.
2. On Tues or Thurs it will be an 5:45 am hit the shower and grab a cup of coffee
3. While I'm getting dressed my wife will put together some breakfast if she's awake
4. If not then I'll get something at the Canteen at the VA to start my volunteer shift
5. If it's not Tues or Thurs I get up when my eyes pop open
All days except Tues or Thurs I get my Wordle done plus 4 other puzzles
From there on it is random, I'm retired and my days aren't really scheduled

How do you get up in the morning?
Me exactly! :p

...takes me a good two hours to decide whether to pursue the day or call in sick dead.

I wake up when my wife's alarm goes off at 6:45am. Occasionally I go back to sleep, but usually I get up and make coffee for her while she showers. We chat while she gets dressed and then I go have tea while she does her makeup and hair.

After she leaves for work, I sometimes go back to bed for about an hour, if I didn't sleep well the night before or if I have too much pain. Otherwise, I get on the computer for a while...til the drugs kick in, basically. Then, it's time to feed the cats and find stuff to do.

I used to be a devoted early-morning person, but now, not so much. I tend to jump out of bed (usually, later than I'd planned), turn on the TV for some background noise, get the coffee going, and raise the blinds to let in the sun. Then I hop on the computer to check my usual sites, then start work.

Hubby and I sleep in until about 11:30 am. We're night owls though, up until 3 am usually. Wash face, brush teeth, get dressed, but not with it until my first sip of coffee, oh and grouchy before having coffee. Then my day begins. Hubby is totally awake as soon as he gets up. Starts doing his NY or Washington Post crossword before even having coffee.

Being retired I have a lot of control over when I hit the rack or get up. With all of the pressure off I can just do as I please unless I need to work around events I want to attend, doctor appointments, lunch with one of my kids, shopping, etc.

So typically... I get up when I get up, and being ready I can just roll out for cleanup, breakfast, and action with little strain.
