The amount of taxpayer's money spent on the monarchy is obscene, the coronation alone has reportedly cost up to £100 million in one of the worst cost of living crises in recent years. It's true that they bring millions of pounds to the country in tourism, but we have many attractions that bring in tourists and only a very small percent of those tourists ever bother to see Buckingham Palace or any of the

The public honours system, headed up by the monarchy, is utterly anachronistic in today’s world as it still, extraordinarily, harks back to the days of the British Empire, arguably the most problematic era in Britain’s history, when the British Monarch held sway over
60 countries, and 412 million people, that's 23 percent of the world population at the time.
An OBE is an ‘Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire’ yet we no longer have a British Empire, so why hasn’t this been amended? Ask yourself, how many celebrities and public figures who present themselves as paragons of social justice, preaching inclusivity and anti-racism, accept such honours? Consider this, that one family has been born into the world, appointed by God, to rule over the United Kingdom and almost a quarter of the world, it really is difficult to be pro-monarchy.
