Terrible murder by crossbow of 3 women in England ...

Three women – aged 25, 28 and 61 – are understood to be Carol Hunt and two of her daughters, family of BBC racing commentator John Hunt.

Armed police could also be seen in the video, but Hertfordshire Police said they were unable to confirm whether they had narrowed their search for the triple murder suspect to the area.

The Met is assisting Hertfordshire Police in their search for Kyle Clifford.

The home secretary Yvette Cooper is urgently considering the findings of a Home Office review to see if tougher crossbow laws need to be introduced in the wake of the deaths of the wife and two daughters of racing commentator John Hunt, PA Media report.

Triple murder victims are family of BBC commentator, corporation says, as police search for suspect – latest updates

I read the article. It says that it was a targeted attack. Do they know why these people were targeted?
The Police are not saying at this stage. Wife and me were talking about it and feel the suspect may have been in some kind of relationship with one of the girls or perhaps even been a stalker. It'll come out at some point.

Lavender Hill Cemetery near the town of Enfield, North London. He was apparently being treated for injuries within the cemetery and was stretchered out then taken to the hospital. It's being reported that the police said they fired no shots.
Self inflicted wounds , most likely an attempt at suicide in my opinion. I have seen some small hand held cross bows advertised on UK hunting websites, that are only about a foot in size that could be easily hidden under a coat . JIMB.

Isn’t this a horrible story? The press says he is a “racing” reporter. Does that mean dog and horse racing or auto racing?

God, I hope he didn’t get involved in betting and gambling, owed the mob a lot of money, and they killed his family when he couldn’t pay. That’s how it sometimes happens here in the states.

If they caught the killer in a matter of hours, the police had to know whom they were looking for. It wasn't an unknown assailant. I don't know many people running around with a crossbow, at least not in the last 500 years. This sounds like a crazed jilted lover crime.
Yes. And he could have used a knife instead. Does the government for this case should ban all knives? It's ridiculous to ban something because somebody could use it to kill people.

In the UK, with very tough laws about firearms of all types, other types of alternative weapons are out there. Cross bows are legal to buy and possess in the UK. So are knives. Ask any UK adult about the level of "knife crime " in their country ? In recent memory an off duty British soldier was killed by a lunatic armed with a Japanese sword and other examples of terrorists armed with knives have happened.

According to the newspaper, the killer and the youngest
daughter, were seeing each other, they didn't say if or why
they might have split up!

It is illegal to carry a crossbow in public, Jim, the new people
in power are looking into strengthening the laws about that,
they will probably make them illegal.

Mike.

He probably chose a crossbow over a knife because he could kill from a distance, hidden behind a tree or car, and not be seen that way. He probably didn't want to be recognized by the family he knows. So very sad.

Tougher crossbow laws are not going to help. It's like the problem Americans have with gun murders.

It is the father of the two dead girls and husband of the dead lady that is a respected racing commentator.
There is nothing much known yet about the killer.

Well in Britain it is unlawful to carry any weapon, including knives. As I understand.
I guess you have over looked such every day things such as cricket bats, field hockey sticks and axes, all of which have legitimate uses, BUT can also be used as a "weapon ". A leather waist belt can be used to strangle some body, and so can a leather boot lace. Should I go on ? Or do you see my point ?
