I'll be darned. Just after I posted at about 2:30, the rains came! Real rain. It's only just now stopped and was enough that there are puddles in the lawn. Yay, woohoo and other exclamations of delight. Mother Nature must have seen that I hoped she'd get warts. Maybe we'll be included in the coming days of promised rain, and our flowers, trees and shrubs won't die.

WTH is wrong with smokers who toss their butts on the ground. We’re under extreme fire danger. A public pathway where I walk has shrubs on both side. I counted 13 butts pushed to the sides in the one minute walk. I’d counted them on sidewalks too, but there’s no danger in those areas. Pigs.

Raining here right now!

Here, too. Again! It's dark as the inside of a cow's belly and pouring pitchforks and hammer handles. Y'all probably think I'm nuts, but after such a long spell of no rain and unrelenting heat, it's just sooo welcome. Right now we even have a flood watch! That's probably because the ground is so dry that the water can't soak in fast enough. Our place is on a high spot in the subdivision so no problem for us, but there are others very low and right next to a creek bed.

This might be an on-and-off thing all night.

Well, our trip into town was mostly a waste of time today.

I think I mentioned that the gym is getting a major reconstruction. When we got there this morning they were cutting treated wood. Even though I don't like the noise that the workers make, I can mostly ignore it. However, the air quality is more of an issue for me than the noise. I don't want to be breathing sawdust while I'm working out.

So we left the gym and went to the Club House. We almost didn't get our coffee, because they had some kind of presentation that was starting in about 30 minutes. Luckily, it doesn't take us that long to finish our drinks and we were out of there in plenty of time.

By now it was around 10:30 and I had no errands to take care of. The Tractor Supply Store was close by, so we went there to browse for a while. I was surprised to see how much their prices had gone up! Maybe that had something to do with why the store was so empty!

Next we went to the park to see if the ducks were back. They still weren't there. The last time we saw Chelveston, or any of the ducks, was last fall. They all disappeared at the same time. I have a feeling that the Park people caught them and relocated them.

Before leaving the Park, I wanted to use the rest room, so we walked over to the Senior Center. I haven't been there in a long while!!!

I'm glad we went. They had African Violets that someone had started, and were selling. At one time, I must have had about 20 African Violets, and they did well...until they all died within a month of each other. That was a long time ago, and I haven't had one since then. We got a "plant light" a few weeks ago I decided that it was time to try an African Violet again. Wish it luck, it's going to need it!. 😅

Anyway, from the Park, we did a Tuesday thing: stopped at the store, then got a 🍕. We sure are creatures of habit!!

Friday morning is Tai Chi in the park with some friends from the Tuesday Tai Chi class. Followed by a brew and a chat in the cafe which opens just as we finish at 10am. Lunch in a nice pub garden with Mrs Oy then I'll be going out somewhere with my camera as it promises to be a nice day. Possibly the local nature reserve to catch up on how this year's young Avocets are doing.

It's a hot one this morning..glorious sunshine... . Almost 10am... . I'll hopefully get the back garden mowing done today.. fortunately I got all the hedges cut before I went away last week so they don't need doing..

other than that, no plans, just see how the day takes me...

Hope you have a super day folks...🙃

Morning all...up at 4am again, durn it....dunno why, breathing
is a bit much...and of course more muscle aches and pains
from my episode, cleaning lady comes today, will have to explain to her my fall, as she has to report it to the social
worker, ah well....just gonna sit around and get fatter today
I guess...later.....:cool::love::coffee:

55 F this morning, sunny already and expecting a high of 78 today.

Opened a new account at yet another financial institution yesterday in order to keep my savings insured. Web site didn't let me complete the online new account process, ended up talking to a lady for 2 1/2 hours. Ended up starting the process from scratch over the phone. I heard all about her allergies, her dad's allergies, she asked about my allergies, talked about her daughter's upcoming wedding plans, asked about my kids, etc. More like a 1st date than opening a new account. :ROFLMAO:

Got the old "Oh, you are so nice to talk to!" bit again. Maybe I just have a face for radio.

Personally I would be very concerned if I'd just given all personal info to a stranger....

Boy that "fall" has just hit me today, very sore all over, hands
are mess of pain, body just plain aches everywhere....okay I know suck it up butter cup...on the other hand, that fox just
came out from the bushes to eat brkfast, some cookies, yes
I feed cookies to critters....sometime....

yesterday I was in shock...Granted the hospital where I had my appointment serves people far and wide of the county, so sometimes I interact with the type of people who don't live in my area.. so it's a surprise when they say or do things that i'm not used to hearing or seeing..

A couple came into the waiting room while I was there..probably late 30's mid 40s... She is on the phone ..pacing.... then when she hangs up she sits down and loudly proclaims.. FFS he's only been in school 1/2 an hour and already there's trouble. What's the matter with him, he's only got a day and a half to go before school breaks up ( she's clearly angry and hacked off, and saying this loudly) .. then she turns to the guy with her and in a confrontational manner she say ..... You make me sick, you think the sun shines out of his arse.. well I'm here to tell you it doesn't !

I was sitting 4 seats away...like this...
:oops::oops:
Another woman gasps at this... and the mother turns and says .. ''Tsk, Kids eh ''?...

I was thinking....... FGS if he's got a problem it sounds he gets it from you dear.. but clearly I didn't say a word..

I didn't roll outta the sack until almost 7. I feel like such a slug!

It's a lovely day in the neighborhood, cool and overcast. Ahhh. Don't get me wrong. I like sunshine, but after the past few weeks am ready for a change in the weather. If this goes on too long, count on hearing me complain, but for now it's just dandy. Our high temp today is supposed to only be in the 80s with more rain on tap. (Can you see my smiling flowers?)

No plans for the day. Maybe clean drips and grubby fingerprints off the kitchen cabinets? Then there's that one over the fridge where random stuff ends up...out of sight, out of mind. I might have a look in there to see if there's anything in there that's really needed.

Chilly morning here.

Mac got over excited over the cat while my friend & I went to visit another friend for a bit.
Hubby had him in his kennel.

I let Mac out of the kennel & he raced around the house .
Had to grab him & try to settle him down.
Such howling & crying!

Fed the cat left over dog food & some milk.
Let Mac on the back porch where he scared the cat off the porch & onto the steps.

It went back to its hiding place on the wood pile.

Fed the cat some milk this morning & let Mac out to see if they would 'make up to one & another.
Mac came out the door like a charging bull & the cat ran away,, back under the porch.

At least Mac isn't whining & crying like he was yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good day today,,,,thank goodness it's Friday!

Thursday I was planning for a quiet low stress day at work after a stressful Wednesday. It didn't work out.

Before logging off yesterday, I looked at the to do lists for Friday. Well Friday should be okay, not too stressful. We'll that is not working out either. Today is another bad one.

Monday is not looking good either. I think I will stop planning to have calm days.

Only 2 years and 9 months til retirement.

Happy Friday, July 19th! Beautiful if overly warm day on the schedule.

Had to roll the pool cover back halfway before going to bed last night, as the water is getting too warm. Overnight temps help cool it down. This time of year it's a delicate balance of perfecting the temperature without losing too much water through evaporation.

Will be having most/maybe all kids and their fams over tomorrow afternoon. Assemble-your-own Vietnamese style spring rolls are on the menu, so today I'll go through my produce and other ingredients to see what I need to buy. Also plan to pickle the carrot & daikon side dish (do chua), and make the sauces today.

Sooo hot here..only 91 deg..... but the British heat is very humid... so altho' it's sunny.. it's absolutely torturous.

I've just been mowing the back lawn... and opening some parcels in the garden... twice I had to come in during the mowing to dry myself off , just so sweating... 😰😰

I'm now sitting in front of the fan.. with an ice cold orangeade... then I'll jump in the shower...
