Showers off and on today but that’s okay. Nothing at all planned for today. May watch more of “Ray Donavan” series. Seems like we been watching it forever. Looked it up and there is 81 or 82 episodes in the series. It’s on Paramount if anyone is interested.

Online church service was only an hour this morning. Usually runs up to 1 1/2 hours. We are Episcopalians so communion takes a large chunk of time. Love Father Tom. His sermons can be quite comical at times.

That’s our day so far. Later…Pappy

Happy Sunday! What a great time I had yesterday with Darius. He smiles all the time and laughs.
Turns out they didn't want chick parm; she had a craving for fried chicken, so they brought some from a local place that's very good. I made fries and broccoli.

Since I desired watermelon, DGS ran to Aldi and got a nice one and also cut it up. They took home half and I have lots!

The baby is 5 months today. I dug out my sons old baby spoon and fed the baby strained sweet potato w/ applesauce. Oh, he loves to eat! He was even trying to grab the spoon himself.

Sorry to go on about him, but I just had the most wonderful day yesterday!

77F - 85F and mostly sunny today.

I've taken daily Rx meds for hypothyroid since age 20, well before info packets came with every prescription and when rarely was advice offered about timing one's pills. Bottle instructions: one per day.

I try to take mine early morning - along with my coffee (that has cream and sugar). If I forget and take it with lunch? Well, I'm still here and my metabolism is still humming along nicely.

My advice: don't sweat it too much.
Thanks for the info, Starsong. It is all new to me.

I've just been painting fence panels in the garden. It wasn't too hot when I started, and I started on the side where there's few plants.. where the old Holly tree used to be... . I got 2 panels stained first coat and suddenly it became waaay too hot to be out there painting, so I've stopped for now.. I'll get the second coat in when it cools down a bit... it's an old fence so it just drinks the stain....

then later this week, or maybe next week...I'll do the other side of the garden which has 100 feet of fencing but much of it is behind lots of Shrubs and trees etc... so just about 6 panels need to be painted that can be seen.. it's still quite a big job tho'... and I really hate doing it, but I do it every couple of years to try and offset any damage and then having to pay for whole new fence panels... These ones have been up about 14 years

On the right of this picture out of shot is 30 feet of 7 feet hedging... and very next to barrel planter is my herb ( Bay tree)... and Choisa.. they are 7 feet tall now...

Funny. I just deleted the first sentence of this post. I wondered if anybody had seen @hollydolly and speculated that maybe she was just outside trimming hedges or something. It must have been telepathy that she gave it up for the coolness of the house and just now posted :ROFLMAO:

I want to get back at the kitchen cabinets. Yesterday was the uppers. The lowers? Um. No telling what's in them that I just don't use. More stuff for the Goodwill donation.

Okay, kids. When this kitchen decluttering exercise is done, what'll I do until the rainy spell is over?

get your overalls on and a paintbrush in hand and come and help with the fences... :D

@OneEyedDiva Manicure! When I was working in the bakery, I kept my nails short. Short as in used a nail clipper on them rather than a file. In a few more days, they'll be long enough that I can give myself a manicure. Can you even imagine after 2 1/2 years? Since I left the bakery, I've been generous with the cuticle conditioner and pushing back the cuticles every day, even going so far as putting the conditioner on my hands, too. Pretty soon my hands won't look like crab claws anymore🦀. When gardening season is done, I'm going to...wait for it...take myself to a salon for a "real" manicure💅. I might even get wild and crazy and have color put on my nails. Color!

A face lift, some botox, a fanny/tummy/thigh tuck, and I'll be good for another 10 years:ROFLMAO:.

ETA: For whatever reason, I counted up. Leaving the bakery is the sixth time I've "retired" since 1990. If I were a cat, I'd have three more "retirements" to go...jussayin'
Well maybe I gave myself a half a*s manicure, because I didn't do anything with my cuticles. I don't think they need it actually, not my hands anyway. I can't stand the way nail salons smell and I don't want anyone fiddling with my hands, so I'll never go to a salon. I have to remember to lotion my hands often because I wash them so much. During the winter my thumbs get so dry that they crack and sometimes bleed.

Show us your nails, complete with color, if you do make it to the salon. :D Yeah that's right...have that botulism toxin put in your face. And all that tucking...you'll be as tight as a drum. 🥁 So wait...have you "retired" again? I can't keep up with all the posts.

Actually, quit. But we'll call it retired. I got tired; therefore, I was re-tired after all those other times I retired. Two weeks ago.

I go to bed late and sleep late. Before the rain started up the other day, I'd go out and play in the dirt, but these past couple of days I've just been lazing around and doing nothing much unless I feel like it. Don't usually feel like it.

Probably after the recovery period from cataract surgery, I'll look for another job. It doesn't suit me to sit still. Maybe I'll be a pole dancer or a hod carrier or something else interesting. Tour guide? IT help desk? Just today another poster said I should write a book, but that would require sitting a lot, and I might get Weaver's Bottom.

About your dry thumbs. Get some cuticle conditioner (I use Sally Hansen) and rub it into your thumbs. Really, it works well.

🫣 oh dear! I don't dare comment🤭 🤣

Whoever owns a piece of land will never run out of work. A branch from my Eucalyptus trees fell on my neighbor's parcel, and I am
cleaning it up. Because it will be again 100 degrees today, I can work only from sunrise till 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. till it gets dark.
I am using a hedge trimmer for pruning branches that are hanging too low, while my pups are watching me.

My large tree branch knocked down part of my neighbor's fence with another neighbor, and now my neighbor can't let his goats out
to feast on the weeds. So, tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. my neighbor, my son-in-law, and I will again straighten out that fence.
