You do make me laugh granny. We have been life-long dancers, as in: Latin & Ballroom, but we do love the music from the Swing Era so we get along to those sort of dances, or concerts. When my wife was working, her being a paramedic in the ambulance service, her work pattern meant she would have to work, early starts, late starts, with very late finishes, spreadover shifts, weekends, public holidays and so on. We only ever had one Christmas Day together in thirty years. Planning our social life around the lady's work diary was like a military exercise, we often crammed in two functions, one after the other, that's why Saturday's outing is second nature.@horseless carriage when on earth do you and Mrs. HC rest?LOL! I can tell you for sure that if I had plans starting at 2pm, by the time the next round starts at 8pm, I'd be wiped out!
Enjoy your day HC, I'm knackered just thinking about your plans. On Saturday we are going to a Jazz Swing Style concert with our MG. It's an afternoon concert called Summertime Swing and is timed to start at two pm, ending at seven.
Hopefully the band's finale will end before the scheduled hour with the finish ending in the DJ playing records. Why hopefully? Because we will have to leave at six thirty. Friends of our's have tickets for us for an evening concert, starting at eight pm, featuring, Swing Unlimited Big Band. It's going to be a very busy day.
HC, I'm really pleased for you and your lovely lady, and all your chums that can still perform on the dance floor, but at almost 86, my dancing days are over, however, I can still enjoy watching those that still can. Go for it, enjoy yourselves. You should see some of those still swirling around the ballroom floor. Old age? What's old age?
