Welcome fellow "Jersey Girl". I'm in northern New Jersey too. We had thunderstorms last night but none today. Stay safe. In severe storms, it might be a good idea to unplug your computer and T.V. if they are not on a surge protector power strips. We're a global community and have a very interesting group of people here. I hope you enjoy the forum as much as I do.

Hi, Cin! I'm originally from NJ, but currently in Northeastern PA. We just had a storm go through here, and I heard a transformer blow. Fortunately we are on the same grid as a nursing home and hospital, so we rarely lose power for long.

Do storms bother you? I grew up in southern Michigan where thunderstorms are very common. I actually enjoy them. There's an indescribable change to the air as a storm is rolling in. I love the sounds, the lightning, the overall power of a good storm.
We rarely get them here in New Hampshire and I miss them.
