Is your refrigerator door decorated?

A piece of child art work from Wife's youngest grand child when she was six, who is now entering grade 12 in September, and 3 white boards where we keep track of needed groceries, doctor appointments, and "To do " reminders.

I had never seen a decorated refrigerator door until I went to the US. Perhaps they were in the UK and I just never saw one. I think they're more common now though.
One day over half a century ago, a refrigerator was delivered to the home of an American couple. As the couple were admiring their new refrigerator, the wife noticed something resembling a little black knob on the door's top right corner, and she pressed it. When nothing happened, she tried turning it, and it came off in her hand. The wife quickly put the thing back where she'd found it, hoping her husband hadn't seen what she'd done.

He had seen, and he immediately plucked the small black disc off of the refrigerator door himself, and examined it.

"Looks like metal," he said, and then wondered out out, "What the hell is this for?" as he stuck it back onto the door of the fridge, this time in a random spot.

It stuck!

As the wife looked on, the man again removed the small disc, and stuck it to another random spot, and another. After repeating this several times, he looked at his wife in amazement and said, "Refrigerators are magnetic!"

Probably a true story.
