Just waiting now for a small grocery delivery. It's due between 6-8pm... it's 6pm now... it;s just heavy stuff, mainly bottles of soft drinks.. and some bananas and eggs... and milk.. and also some peanut butter to put in the rodent traps.. save me going out just for those things

In the meantime, I've bagged up a whole bunch of clothing that I've basically never worn or only worn once, to donate to the charity shop... I still have way too much clothing, but every other thing I was about to donate still had their price tags on, so I'll hold onto them for now, or maybe sell them

I also went out in the garden, and moved all the furniture etc.. to make it much easier for the gardener/s to get to the trees and hedges tomorrow morning..

Hi folks!!! I've been lurking this morning, dunno why, just how
it is...trying to save my hands actually, don't want that pain
no more...not much going on here, into 80's F right now, into
9o's again today....got to get game cam and check the pics cause I saw the fox last eve again, want to see if he got his
medical hot dogs LOL....

I sometimes just fear for the future of the world and the people in it.
I have just had my grocery delivery. There was 2 large brown paper bags with groceries in.. you'll all know the type.

I saw the driver pull up in his car .. get out , walk up to my front door, and then walk across the lawn to the side of the house.

I quickly opened the front door, and asked him where he was going and he said '' The sign on your door says please put packages over the gate ''...

I kid you not he was about to throw the groceries over the bluddy gate...!!:rolleyes:

I said to him, yes but these are groceries, you wouldn't throw groceries over the gate would you.. his response.. robotic like.. '' but the sign says please put packages over the gate''

There was 4 bottles and 2 glass jars in those bags !! if I hadn't have caught him he was going to throw them over a 6 ft gate ..:eek:

Did some financial stuff in the early a.m. My son and I took one final listen together to each of the songs that will be on my next album. We wanted to make sure we’re completely satisfied before he starts the mastering process. He just had to do a minor adjustment to the volume on part of the electric piano track on (what I call) my sweet Rock tune. I detected and am pleased with the difference he made. The rest of what needs to be done is now in his extremely capable hands.

I read through several of my old threads which I got into because I was looking for something. I didn’t realize there were so many that I lost track of and didn’t at least react to the replies! Sorry about that. :sneaky: I also tried to catch up on at least some of the threads by others. Throughout the day, I played games on my phone, watched T.V and napped. I was going to make crab cakes and the Impossible Broccoli pie (Bisquick recipe), but I don’t think that’s going to happen at this point because laziness has taken hold.

Good mornin'...all... 10.30am.. overcast. The Gardner is due very soon to prune all my trees, and my huge cherry laurel. he said its going to be an all day job because there are so many trees. They're all very neat because I do my best to keep them like that but they are also very tall, so they need to be brought down to a manageable level for me .
I was thinking about not paying to have them done, because I really am liking the London flat I saw.. but I just can't make up my mind whether to decide to have the flat or not. ...so I am just as well to have the trees done in case I don't move house .

Giving up all my outside land, storage & privacy for basically living in a Goldfish bowl ( apartment with a small balcony and no outside storage) it's just a huge decision, and I'm not sure I can do it. DD is all for it, she thinks I need to downsize a lot..

The flat is in a lovely part of London, within a 15 minute walking distance of a great high street with all the amenities and shops...and also 2 tube stations nearby... and there's even a park next door.. but it's a huge decision to change to a very small apartment after living all my adult life in houses with a lot of space.

Right must go, the gardener is due any minute...

It's morning again. It happens every day.

We had another good rain last night so I don't have to water. However, the rain helps the weeds grow big and strong :(. There are still lots of them in the places where the flower beds aren't so densely planted.

Right now I'm feeling lazy...the only thing I've accomplished this morning is drinking a cup of coffee. There are things to do (remember that vacuuming?), places to go (I forgot to get milk), people to see (What? I don't know any people except the ones under this roof), flowers to deadhead so they'll keep blooming and...weeds to pull (why can't they pull themselves?).

Somebody light a fire under my lazy arse.

I've come in for a rest. The Gardener and the tree surgeon have got 2 trees chopped and most of the Big Laurel hedge.. and they're right now Chipping the branches from the trees in the chipper.. Very hot out there, and muggy... I offered them cold drinks but they wanted hot coffee.. go figure !

I raked up all the big carpet of laurel leaves that were on the ground..

They've still got 2 trees to do, and 2 high hedges to top...

I've never lived in an apartment and would never willingly do so. We've always had our own house with a garden - big or small.
DD, who lives and works in Manchester, loves digging out the hedge clippers and trimming the hedge round our garden, mainly so she can see the farmland and sheep in the fields behind us. Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

We spent the morning finishing off papering the lounge ceiling. With a bit of advice from Youtube, we managed to get the hang of it and we're pretty pleased with the result. Off for a walk this afternoon and then cook Beef bourguignon for dinner.

I just wanted to say

to everyone! Hopefully, I'll be back later to read about all of the adventures that you've been having.

For now, it's time for breakfast!

I woke up in such a good mood that I'm scared! I think because last night DIL sent me a pic of my grandson where he looks exactly like my father! My grandson popped out blond & blue eyed and his parents are dark haired & brown eyed! Blue eyed blond, just like my father! My father's genes coming out so vividly in his great grandson! It's overwhelming! May my grandson have the grace and goodness of my fabulous dad!

Day 4 of a 5 day trip down to That London. Another hot sunny day and Mrs Oy is away shopping (again) with our eldest. So here’s me mooching about with my camera. Currently enjoying a cold pint in a pub near the Tower of London (All Bar One) having walked about round Hackney then down the river from Westminster Bridge to here. Step counter on my Apple Watch thinks it’s been stolen by an athlete 🤣

@hollydolly I can't give you any advice about selling up and moving, but I can tell you that downsizing is freeing. We only did it a bit at a time, first from here before going back to the UP, then again when anticipating moving to Kentucky when we sold the house and once again when I left Kentucky after DH died and I moved here. After moving here from Kentucky, most of the furniture pieces that I couldn't use were pieces that DD wanted. (I don't miss those because I can "visit" them in DD's house,) The rest was sold or given away.

After all the moves and after all these years, it's rare that I miss anything we sold or gave away. And I still have too much stuff!

Living here, I still have DD's entire back yard for a garden, so at least I can be outside and roam around, and there's plenty of storage in DD's garage. If I lived in an apartment it would have to have (1) a very large balcony or patio and (2) plenty of storage space.
