I think Krupa and Rich was the first LP I ever bought in 1956. As I recall it cost $5.00, which I had to save up for several weeks. I literally wore the groove off that album, it impressed me so much. Later I became a professional percussionist/drummer for 20 years.

But Buddy Rich was the greatest drummer of all time. Most top drummers have that opinion. His technique, especially with his left hand, was unmatched. He had a crispness and drive that almost no other drummer had. He has several solos on YouTube. One of his famous medleys is his big band's arrangement of West Side Story, featuring a drum solo. He had amazing chops and style well into his 60s
