Okay, serious query,why do I

Could be from chewing too fast, but years ago my dentist told me our teeth move as we age, and the older get the more our teeth get out of alignment.

He told me this while working on my teeth after I had a bad fall (you probly know the one). A couple of my teeth got knocked out, a couple were broken, and a few molars ended up out of alignment. That's what was causing me to sometimes bite my own tongue while eating.

Alignment might not apply but one might be less aware of the space they occupy.

I have had this problem a lot lately cause i'm down to 8 teeth. Have dental appt tomorrow to discuss plan for full dentures. Told dentist that as rapidly as new fillings are falling out(1-2 yrs) it seems a waste of money to keep refilling. (I got fillings and crowns in my 20s that last 30-40 yrs)

Yup that's my thought also. Misaligned teeth will do that. I still wear a retainer at times when I'm not in public to keep them in place.

No idea why it happens, but I occasionally have the same problem. For me the bite isn’t near as annoying as the mouth sore that often results. For those troubled by mouth sores, I have found something that works for me, Orajel. It can take several treatments, but the most effective has been just before going to bed, followed up by another the next morning.
 
It happens with my dentures every now and then.

I’m not sure why and I don’t worry about it but it is annoying when it happens.

If you’ve had your dentures several years and they seem loose it might help if your dentist can reline them for a better fit.

Now then, you bought and paid for them so they are yours, right? I know I bought and paid for mine and had the best denturist in town, so of course he retired right after he did my last plates. They never needed any adjustments they still fit perfectly. They are MINE!
 
Could also be caused from too many Werther's hard candies, hmmmmm? :D Too much sugar causes the inside of your cheeks and gums to swell and get in the way of things.
