Do others consider your oddities and lapses a sign of aging?

I have always had my share of peculiarities as many of us do. Now when I have an unusual theory or I lose my keys I think others might attribute it to my age. Younger people I know have strange ideas and lose their keys all the time and it is accepted as normal.
Do I care? Not much, but I do find it interesting.

I hate it when I lose words, they are right there on the tip of my tongue and refuse to come out of my mouth until I no longer need them! I darned well attribute to my age because I never had that problem before. In fact I actually got called a slick talking devil once.

I have always been kind of different. I am crankier now though, and don't really care how they feel about that. :ROFLMAO:
Same here @DebraMae . A guy I dated told me he liked me because I was "different" or more aptly put "unusual". Unusual was his description. LOL, and like you, I am crankier now and stopped caring so much about how others feel about it.

We are fine they way we are! 🌹

We just got back from walking the dog at the dog park where Lia and I got in a conversation with another weaver also using a rolling walker only she is 90. I wish I'd taken a picture. Small world. But the topic of forgetting keys and .. what was it? .. oh, yeah - words never came up. Maybe weaving is good for longevity but no doubt walking is.

My wife has almost no filter, blurting out what she really thinks almost compulsively. But I love that.

I’m not around people enough for them to notice my little slips but I notice and they bother me.

So far they are silly little slips that don’t have any serious consequences.

About all I can do is be aware of them and do what I can to automate and ā€˜childproof’ my world so I can continue living independently.

I hope that I’m able to wait as long as possible, yet not too long, before making the move to some sort of assisted/supervised living arrangement.

We’ll see!

If losing keys was a sign of senility, I’d have been put away when I was 8. I was a latchkey kid who perpetually lost the house keys. Sometimes found on the lawn. Under pillows. Could be months later. Didn’t bother me in the least. I’m still notorious for losing things.

unfortunately I have your wife's condition... ! It's easier for me to control it a little online, but in real life, I can't help it.. it's out before my brain tells me not to say it...

Maybe I'm not old enough yet. Or more likely they're trying to be kind by not talking about my oddities and lapses to my face?

Or maybe I should just wait for another unjustified thread full of invective and bile and stamping of Size 12s to defame and libel me?

Oh, c'mon. Put on your Big Boy pants. You're no angel.
Now, now. It's not very nice to imply that women must be treated as children, incapable of reason or accountability. That kind of thing could get you into trouble.
