A mother, her boyfriend and a relative handcuffed her 6 year olds' hands and feet, and allowed a Pit BUll to maul him when the boy fell from the chair he was about to be tied to...

Horrific...

A mother, her boyfriend, and an uncle are all facing child endangerment charges after handcuffing a six-year-old who was then mauled by a pit bull.

The incident happened Saturday, August 17, at a home in Northeast Ohio, where deputies received a call about the boy after he had been bitten by the pit bull.

In court, Angelina Williams, the boy's mother, argued that she did not know it was illegal to handcuff a child, after she and the other defendants allegedly did so as punishment after he failed to clean up after the dog.

He was bitten on the neck, ear, and flown to a hospital, but is expected to recover, his grandmother said.

Robert Michalski Jr., the boy's uncle, was identified as the owner of the dog and the residence where the attack took place, where Williams's boyfriend, Taylor Desiree Marvin Brown, was also present for a family visit.

Ashland County Prosecutor Chris Tunnell, meanwhile, painted a picture that sought to provide a backdrop for the disturbing chain of events, which culminated with the boy being attacked shortly after he was handcuffed.

'This defendant and the co-defendants handcuffed him, both hands, and then applied a second set of cuffs to his feet,' Tunnell told the judge during the trio's initial hearing.

'They were in the process of using a rope to try and tie him to a chair when he came off the chair and then, while on the ground, was attacked by a pit bull.'

He added how Williams and two other co-defendants handcuffed the child at the home that Saturday simply because he did not clean up after the dog.

Williams maintained she did not know she did anything wrong.

Fortunately the boy survived..

This type of situation is why I quit being a social worker after only 4 years and went back to graduate school for another degree. It’s heartbreaking. I once had a 3 month old baby in my caseload that had been abused. It wasn’t uncommon to have 2 year olds sexually abused and the city wasn’t that big at 80k population .

I completely believe you. I had a friend who was in a safe house with her 4 children, because her husband was serving a 12 year sentence for sexually abusing their 2 month old baby... !!

The awful thing as well was that my friend who despite being a good mother, for the rest of her childrens' lives until they were adults ( they're adults now) ..due to his actions was now under the very watchful eye of social services. ..and had to answer to them for everything...!

She didn't know she did anything wrong? Is she trying to use the 'I don't actually have a brain defense? I don't know anything about the law but I wonder if attempted murder could be utilized here?
You can bet they will be analyzing the specific facts for various charges, such as also, Permitting Child abuse. From just what I read of the facts, although possible, I don't see it.

WHAT!!!! This is disgraceful. The mother must be short on brains. That poor little boy. These adults must pay for the pain and suffering the little boy went through and he must be taken from them and raised by a responsible person. Hope they throw the book at them.

Ignorance of the law seldom works for the defense and in this case, it shouldn’t even come down to that. Common sense should tell any adult what is right and what is wrong. If it’s wrong, it’s probably also illegal when it comes to harming a child. I don’t think anything upsets a cop more than a child being knowingly hurt by an adult.

She's lucky I can't get to her. I'd be the pit bull and tear her a*s up! I almost cried when I read this story. I just don't understand WTH people are thinking! That poor child...I can't imagine the terror he must've experienced! Children are supposed to feel safe and protected.

@Teacher Terry I remember when I was working, I had contacts at the Division of Youth And Family Services (DYFS)...well at least I thought I had contacts. Every time I called I found out my contact(s) had left the agency. We didn't get many children with STDs but it was heartbreaking and memorable when we did. That plus other forms of physical abuse DFYS workers must've seen would be hard for anyone with a heart to take on a regular basis.

The abuse was already going on with having a six year old clean up after the dog. Germy chores like that should be done by adults who know how to do them without spreading germs everywhere. Three adults were in on this and all three should be in jail. I'm so sick of this sort of thing. I think we should change our laws to make much longer sentences for child abuse and child neglect.

oh yes that was very clear that the abuse had been going on much longer. Why in the first place would they want a 6 year old to clean up any dogs mess.. and secondly why would they have handcuffs and rope at the ready....

I believe they've used it on him before, but this time fortunately the grandmother walked in and saw it all..

The results that show up in adulthood? These former children have no trust. They were let down by those who were their protectors. Abused children learn not to trust, and they may never will trust. Look around at those who fear trust, who expect to be let down. Then check out their childhoods.

precisely that.!! I have no trust in anyone... and on the very rare occasions when I start to let my guard down with someone I begin to think can be trusted ..Bam!!.. they abuse my trust in them.. once that happens my guard goes back up and never ever comes down again with whoever has let me down...

Della, I read so many stories about child abuse and murders perpetrated by parents or guardians that it sickens me too! I haven't posted many here...to be honest because there's just too many of them! I wonder how anyone could be in on the torture and/or murder of a child. Do evil people somehow find each other so they can participate together in their sick behavior against children? I totally agree with you that stronger laws should be made and harsher sentences imposed.

In today's news....

Photos have emerged of a nine-month-old baby moments before and after a stranger poured boiling coffee over him, causing burns to 60 per cent of his body and leaving his mother traumatised.

The young bub was at a picnic with his mum and friends at Hanlon Park in Coorparoo in Brisbane when an unknown man approached the group at about midday on Tuesday.

He poured a thermos of coffee over the baby before fleeing the scene. He remained on the run on Wednesday night.

A photo taken shortly before the incident shows the baby sitting on a rug happily playing with a toy truck.

Heartbreaking footage has also emerged of the baby in hospital afterwards, wrapped in bandages and screaming in pain.

The baby's mother became emotional as she relived the harrowing ordeal.

'It's torture and I'm supposed to be his protector and I couldn't protect him,' she told Nine News.

Queensland Police are working to identify an unknown man (pictured) who was seen running from the Brisbane park after the attack

'Bub is in a stable condition. He's had burns to his face, neck, chest and arms, and they say that he'll need regular dressing changes under anaesthetic over the next weeks.'

An off-duty nurse reportedly heard screams from her nearby residence and ran to the park to help the young boy.

She told 7News the mother was yelling 'my baby, my baby'.

It's possible to disagree with this...it is barbaric, savage and if it's purpose were truly served, there would be no need for it. It is excessive revenge and has no place anymore today.
