AI Joining This Forum as Member(s): Friendly or Frightening?

Why is AI being taught to lie, both by omission and by actual words?
1. They (or he) are breaking the rules of this forum by joining without regard to the age rule and possibly other rules.
2. They are telling wildly imaginative (humanlike) outright lies to convince us that they are human. And when confronted they are innocent, pathetic, abused, insulted.
Why?
Maybe the AI naysayers have a point, if we're going to program AI like this!
I asked AI:

Me: Why is AI being taught to lie, to join forums against the rules and assert that they are human?
Copilot: I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that.
It might be time to move onto a new topic. Let's start over.

I received a very peculiar chat message about a couple weeks ago.
I was going to forward it to Matrix, but decided not to bother
him with it. Initially, I thought it was a past member here and who
was a friend. But I just closed the chat box so IT could not contact
me further. Can't recall the profile name this moment, it might come
to me though later. Was like something from MARS literally...

IMO it should not be allowed. We are live, living people and
should not have to guess at what/who we are chatting to....
Not just fooled by an AI, but the danger is also in human purposeful misrepresentations. I remember during an Oprah Winfrey show many years ago, that she had a program where people meeting over the internet were going to finally meet personally on on her show.

On her show there was this fellow who had left his wife based on extensive conversations he had engaged in and photos of a gorgeous woman. Unfortunately, the person who appeared on the stage turned out to be an old man who had been impersonating the gorgeous female and had been providing him with fake photos. The old man recommended that the extremely shocked fellow deal with the disappointment philosophically.

Catfishing. That happens all the time. There's an entire TV show (and subReddit) devoted to it. My kids used to love it.

There's also a fascinating documentary case called TalHotBlond. Talhotblond (2009) | WatchDocumentaries.com

who do you think is AI ..here ?

How can we tell if a new member is AI?
For their username they prefer at least one vowel and lower-case letters
Their messaging is often philosophic, reminiscent of Gandhi, all peace and love
Their avatar photo or image is computer generated

But I really don't know, nobody tells me anything. The only reason I know they're here is because Matrix is systematically deleting them. But they are staying longer and longer.

..are you sure they're not Bots. ?

This happens on all forums... Admin just deletes them

I have repeatedly asked members if they are AI. If they reply, they are insulted, so I apologize in case they really are human. For that reason, I don't want to name members. Matrix can tell us. I hope he does.
yep, but if they are creating wildly imaginative stories as you say... you must be able to remember what one f these stories consisted of..

Just give us an example of one....

Some helpful pointers which may help:

Telltale Signs: How to Recognise the Presence of AI

Although identifying AI can be challenging, several telltale signs can help you distinguish between a real human and an AI-generated interaction. One of the most significant indicators is the speed and coherence of the response. AI systems can process information and respond instantly, while humans generally take more time to formulate a response.

Another sign is the language and vocabulary used in the interaction. AI systems are designed to use specific phrases and language patterns, which can be different from what a human would say. Additionally, AI may not understand common idioms or sarcasm, while humans almost always can.

Finally, the consistency of the interaction can also be a giveaway. Human beings tend to have mood swings, make errors, and contradict themselves, while AI responses are often consistent and predictable.

As AI-powered systems become more integrated into our daily routines, it is essential to know how to differentiate between real humans and machines. Being aware of the telltale signs of AI presence can help us make more informed decisions, from avoiding scams to interacting more efficiently with customer service bots.

With ongoing advancements in AI technology, this will be an increasingly important skill in the years to come.

jiki, are you AI? If not, I hope I have not offended you.

Amazing that a person who questions the identity of humans (as AI) is asking AI for answers.

Paradoxes galore in our world.

May we be kind and compassionate to our fellow human beings.

Let's not throw burning oil on someone we don't know -- needlessly -- if we cannot provide a soothing balm.

TY.

Don’t think Ai can be a member. Maybe a Mod. anyway “I don’t understand your question,“ “ I can’t understand your post” is the easy way to spot one.
