Albeit a bit "forward", but here goes....

Here's another issue M, what about my dog?, I have a 2 year old Frenchie that we recently introduced to her dog, didn't go well at first, but as time went on they were able to get past the initial "handshake" and weren't growling at each other, actually all my dog wanted to do is play, her dog did the growling typical of a chihuahua I have heard.
Chihuahuas are way more territorial than Frenchies. I'd suggest letting the chihuahua have it's space and put all your dog's stuff in all the areas the other dog isn't particularly passionate about, or is the least protective of...it's gonna be protective of all of it, but it'll calm down if it sees your lady pet and feed your Frenchie once or twice a day, and then more and more often.

What her dog won't want to see is your dog in mom's lap. Give that a few months if it ever happens at all. But like I said, her dog should see mom occasionally pet and feed your dog, and talk to it, too, by name....and gradually more and more often. Kind of see how the chau takes to that.

Hi Jules, let's just say that I end up living with my lady, I could certainly rent a local storage unit, but does one think that would work out ok in terms of a relationship??, I mean if I go there all the time and mess around with my long time RC hobby??
Why would you go there all the time if you're in a new relationship?

Surely you could set aside a specific time to enjoy your hobby..maybe Sundays and another day in the week...but if you're thinking of spending more time on your hobby than your new relationship, then it's never gonna work...

Chihuahuas are very solitary independent dogs.. an rally their love is just for their owner... we have one....however once they come around and get to know a person, or another dog they can be very playful..

Biker also has a job. So job plus hobby could add up to quite a lot of time.

Welcome to the forum @Biker

Is there a reason why you and your lady should necessarily ever live together? I don't mean that negatively but, you mention that you have both been through painful divorces. Perhaps you both need to keep your independence while enjoying the relationship you have.

If I were in your position, I would continue as things are unless, of course, your partner suggests moving in together and, if and when she does, then that is probably the time to sit down and discuss how it will work. In the meantime, just enjoy having your lady, your hobby and your dog in your life. :)

Actually, I'm not expecting to spend more time than a day or two during the week if it turns out to be the case

Well, that's exactly what I intend to do, I won't bring it up at all, I guess I should have been a bit clearer on this, I was asking these questions in case it was to come up because it's quite possible that the subject could come up at some point.

Biker, if you guys decide to think about living together, move into a totally new place. No one should move into the others‘ home. Start afresh.

P.S. Make sure it has a garage.

most people can't afford to do that..it usually comes down to a choice between one or the other's homes..

My husband moved into my house...

Welcome and can she not move in with you instead? Or the best response above from Jules, how about starting a new relationship with a brand new home for the both of you?
