8-year-old drives to Target with $400 to shop, get coffee

So I was talking to hubby and saying I could not believe this! An eight year old would be in third grade! I said first of all to hubby is how could this child reach the gas pedal and brakes?? Also how would she know how to derive a car unless her parents taught her how to drive?? I have heard on farms, that children learn pretty young to operate farm machinery, or at least in the old days.

But I just don't understand how a little girl could drive a car in the city? I mean, when I was 8 years old, I was playing with Barbie dolls and having Barbie ride in her own toy car. What I also find very disturbing that on the news show that I watched this news story, the anchor woman thought this was funny and I have also seen online that people thought it was funny and cute!!

Are people insane?? This kid could have killed not only herself, but others. I think the parents should have been charged with at least negligence. By the way, GoneFishin I tried to look at your video but it did not open, it said error.

Yes they seem to be having some kind of trouble there. Not working for me also.

Yes, I heard this story on the news and saw a clip. 😮 The reporter was saying you see her weaving just a little bit there. And the car, seen a little bit ahead from behind, went to the left a little and then straightened back up. The pace was moderate. He said they (I think it was the cops) found her sitting down at Target drinking a cappuccino or something. 😂 I couldn't believe it either but I'm no longer really surprised by anything that I hear or see. I think it was her aunt's or grandmother's car.

I'm just glad that I no longer care to drive around town. I like out-of-town, long-distance, OTR driving. 🛣
