Sigh! Crochet blanket disaster!

Why am I doing this to myself?
I wanted to crochet my therapist a blanket for a Christmas gift and I started at the end of august and it is now almost October and I have started 4 of them...what the heck????
I don't like any of them and this is something that has never happened to me.
I normally just buy the yarn and just do it.

I don't always have a person in mind because I just like to crochet them but I haven't either liked the colors? Or liked the yarn I am using so I gave up on 4 of them....ugh

I do know that she has plenty of blankets in her office, big fuzzy ones and I do know she likes specific colors but that is it ?

I want to make her something but I only like to crochet blankets and don't know what else to make for her.

I am stuck! and the pressure of Dec is right around the corner.

Paralyzed from my own pressures, ugh!

You can still make her a blanket and give it to her when you are satisfied with it.

That will take the pressure off and your thoughtful gift will stand out from the holiday onslaught.

The important thing is to relax and enjoy the holidays. 🤗
 

Good response but I used blanket yarn, polyester yarn, and chenille and velvet.
Just all of them, and would look like a mess.

Put them away. Find some other thoughtful gift. Start over after the new year on those blankets with a fresh look.
You'll find they don't look so bad without the pressure to complete them before Christmas.
 
Hello Tatertot. im a Crochet Buff too,,and i crochet hats and baby blankets now and Headbands etc, ,,You name it and i croched it i bet !!,,Been crocheting since i was 13.. It was my Grandfather who showed me how to crochet , he use to crochet RagRugs...lol i believe you know what they are,, just by using old clothing cut up in strips....

I'm now crocheting Baby Blankets and baby hats and booties for Relatives and Friends who are pregnant,,,
Im 81 now and it keeps me busy,!!, I posted some pictures here somewhere too; and most of my work.. i call it work..lol..
But that was a Quite a few years ago ,so not sure its even still here,!!!, LOL
Anyway my dear,,, do not give up..!!!! I do not know where you live but if you have a Hobby Lobby Store near you , that is where i buy my yarn, they have sooo much to choose from, anyway, like i say please don.t ever give up..!! 🙋‍♀️ 🤗P S.how about a Christmas tree Skirt ? just a thought,!!! i ve made them and they rather simple to make,,

That's an interesting thought, and thank you everyone for advice and experience s
 
Usually service people and medical professionals are not 'supposed' to take a gift from a patient. The medical field feels if the Dr accepts the gift it is showing that patient favoiteism. So by giving a gift it puts the Doctor in an awkward position. The doctor is giving you a treatment, a medical service, you are not friends. Maybe she doesn't celebrate Christian holidays, who knows.

I know you don't want to hear this but it's true. I think your desire to thank her is good. Just tell her that at this special time of year you really appreciate all she has done for you. That's what she really wants, anyway.
