The evil of Canola:
Soybean oil sounds about as bad. The suggestion seems to be to use more lard, butter, and especially fish oils. I don't know enough about it to say whether it makes sense or is even practical.I have soybean oil. I only use it for cooking. I've heard olive oil isn't good for frying. I never know what to believe. I'm going to look into that olive oil again.
Olive oil is great for āpanā fryingI have soybean oil. I only use it for cooking. I've heard olive oil isn't good for frying. I never know what to believe. I'm going to look into that olive oil again.
olive oil burns when the temperature gets too hot, so not great for frying...I have soybean oil. I only use it for cooking. I've heard olive oil isn't good for frying. I never know what to believe. I'm going to look into that olive oil again.
In former times it was said that olive oil must not be heated very much. In fact now it is known as safe to heat olive oil until 200 degrees Celsius (392F). But no oil should be overheated until smoke comes. Then it will produce acrolein, which is highly toxic!Olive oil is great for āpanā frying
That has been my understanding. I have never heard of groundnut oil. I wonder if it's available here? I'll look into it.olive oil burns when the temperature gets too hot, so not great for frying...
I use Groundnut Oil...
I never see my olive oil smoking so I guess Iām doing ok. Whenever I see a huge ābewareā statement, I look to see who itās from and why.In former times it was said that olive oil must not be heated very much. If you read such statements, always look from what source they come. The milk industry condems oils from plants, the oil industry condems butter.
OMG it's peanut oil! I didn't know.olive oil burns when the temperature gets too hot, so not great for frying...
I use Groundnut Oil...
I fry at lower temperatures. Though I guess if it's frying, it's got to be hot to a degree. But my cast iron works great. I usually just fry potato patties or veggie burgers, fake breaded chicken nuggets or patties.I never see my olive oil smoking so I guess Iām doing ok. Whenever I see a huge ābewareā statement, I look to see who itās from and why.
Coconut Oil is the best that we have personally tested and currently use. But only heated low, not high heat. Olive Oil would be good but there was/is a rash of fake Olive Oil because of the expense. Easier to make fake oils, add in some olive oils and make huge profits.I have soybean oil. I only use it for cooking. I've heard olive oil isn't good for frying. I never know what to believe. I'm going to look into that olive oil again.
You canāt go wrong with cast iron and olive oil. As long as itās not smoking away, youāre fine, in my humble opinion.I fry at lower temperatures. Though I guess if it's frying, it's got to be hot to a degree. But my cast iron works great. I usually just fry potato patties or veggie burgers, fake breaded chicken nuggets or patties.
I don't believe a word any 'authority' says any more.I remember this from years back.
