If coffee runs short, I'll settle for tea. .. I have enough tea bags for probably 2 years!
Before Canadian teams joined Major League Baseball, the fall classic, just as today... is called the "World Series", despite excluding most of the world. We are constantly making things and storing them in our cellar. While this is a United States problem, it WILL affect Canada also.
I think the issue is that people get nutty and hoard it, leaving shelves bare for... sometimes weeks.Toilet Paper isn’t imported .. it’s all domestic.
I'm thinking the problem in this will be that people who don't know this fact will be freaking out like the start of Covid and hoarding. If you see empty shelves, it wouldn't be because it's imported, but because hoarders stepped in.Toilet Paper isn’t imported .. it’s all domestic.
Oooops, snap. I was just typing the same thing.I think the issue is that people get nutty and hoard it, leaving shelves bare for... sometimes weeks.

Probably right about that.I'm thinking the problem in this will be that people who don't know this fact will be freaking out like the start of Covid and hoarding. If you see empty shelves, it wouldn't be because it's imported, but because hoarders stepped in.
Yeah, eggs are up again. Even so, they're still a relatively affordable source of protein when compared to other things. I'll continue to buy them because I don't want to eat cereal for breakfast every day. Here we go again.... panic buying so suppliers can overcharge us even more. Eggs were $5.00 per dozen at Stop and Shop yesterday! Nope!
And to think when I bought groceries a few days back they gave away a case of bottled water with every purchase over $100.My son said there was no water and no toilet paper when he went to Costco this evening. We have three Costcos in our vicinity but since he's preparing for a weekend trip, he won't have time to check the others this week. My son uses a lot of bottled water and prefers Poland Spring, so I don't know what he's going to do.
I hear you. but I'll eat anything for breakfast. Still,,,, I don't think we get eggs shipped in by sea and needing to dock and I haven't heard about another round of avian flu so.....I suspect thievery, Of course I could be wrong and probably am. *sigh* All this inflation/shrink-flation just infuriates me. Bah!Yeah, eggs are up again. Even so, they're still a relatively affordable source of protein when compared to other things. I'll continue to buy them because I don't want to eat cereal for breakfast every day.
And many of them buy it up and re-sell online at gouging prices. If you see empty shelves, it wouldn't be because it's imported, but because hoarders stepped in.
Well it's good to have on hand. For instance, I don't know if you remember when I posted that our city and surrounding areas didn't have drinkable water for several weeks. The cities were handing out cases of bottled water to all who lined up. We were even given a case by someone who somehow received too much. But we already had plenty here due to our purchase habits. And to think when I bought groceries a few days back they gave away a case of bottled water with every purchase over $100.
I don't normally use it myself, but I don't leave money on the table. I'll probably hang onto it to use for car trips, but I'm not sure I want to drink water that's been sitting in plastic for too long a time.
Been dealing with hoarders as-is any time a store has a good sale or they cut the price on stuff they want to get rid of someone comes buys remaining stock. Small businesses seem to be using reduced prices/supermarkets as their wholesaler/supplier. One lady got into a 'discussion' with a store manager demanding a call when the next batch came in at that price and she would buy it all from them. Here we go again.... panic buying so suppliers can overcharge us even more. Eggs were $5.00 per dozen at Stop and Shop yesterday! Nope!
Yup, today, stores report a run on toilet paper.I think the issue is that people get nutty and hoard it, leaving shelves bare for... sometimes weeks.
Where do your supplies come from Brookswood? Are most from the west coast ports?I live in a land locked city, so no effect on me.
