Nicest Person You've Ever Met (not related to you)

Maybe I've known more than one "nicest" but the one I think of first is Tommy.
A black man that was about twice my age at the time.

I was young and not paid well, working for a construction equipment dealer.
Lived in a city that wasn't my hometown and had an apartment.

If I had something to say, Tommy truly listened.
After listening, I didn't always like what Tommy had to say, but had to admit he was right.

If I asked for help, even a temporary financial bump, Tommy never refused or questioned.
I was blessed by Tommy's caring friendship during a tough period of my life.
Thanks Tommy

I'm reminded of the unknown to me woman in southern California who stopped her car, came up to me painfully walking in high heels on the sidewalk going from place to place seeking a job. She insisted on purchasing tennis shoes for me at a nearby shoe chop. It didn't occur to me to be suspicious of her & I ended up with a pair of very comfortable shoes. We then parted & I never saw this angel again.

I suppose you're asking about "real life" so I'll answer in that way... but I'll preface by saying that the truly nicest people I've known have been online... some more recent and some spanning decades.

But... nicest real life person was probably an old boss of mine in a photography studio. Her name was Fannie and was very soft spoken. I can't remember if she'd always been single... or a widow, but she was [what was to me at the time because I was 21] "elderly." Thinking back, she probably wasn't much more than 60. Maybe took pity on me because I was all alone without family in the city and "mothered over" me to keep me out of trouble. :giggle:

One Saturday night, Fannie invited me out to dinner to save me from a TV dinner. I wish she had told me it was a really fancy dining room about 40 miles away... I probably wore jeans. I have no idea what we could have had to talk about... hope I didn't act like a complete weirdo. 😲

It's an artist friend of mine. He's genuine and kind and we spend lots of time, as we can, listening to each other and healing each other. He creates beauty and shares it with me and his life and heart. He has a great sense of humor too. :giggle: We've been friends for 8 years now and I would be more lost without him than almost anyone I can think of.
