Things that are gone but you wish would come back....

Puerto Rico? Guam? American Samoa? U.S. Virgin Islands? Northern Mariana Islands? Take your pick.
Well, a former friend of mine always was crazy about Puerto Rico.

American Samoa sounds like beautiful girls.

U.S. Virgin Islands and Northern Mariana Islands?

I've stopped looking. All of these four are ravishingly beautiful.

What would you suggest?

I miss the days when doctors were independent business owners. I miss being able to see a GP for $15.00 which is all it used to cost me in high school. I miss doctors making housecalls when their patients were sick and needed bedrest. My health was effortlessly better back then. All credit to the way medicine was practiced back then. I felt great all the time.

I miss the kind of face to face contact that was common in the past because there was no other way to do it back then. No internet or smart phones.

I miss the comedy and laughter because now we have to be so politically correct all the time we no longer know what we're allowed to laugh at. I find that stressful. I laugh whether I should or not and keep it private but laughter with others is better.

I miss Keith Moon because he was so unpredictable. He was hilarious too. You never knew what crazy thing he might do when you went to see the Who. :ROFLMAO:

I miss people being polite, and dressing well . I hate the fact that people talk loud in the street when they're walking with friends. I hate the culture that has people swearing in public in normal conversation, and I hate that people dress so slovenly much of the time when out and about...
Holly, I couldn't agree more! So many dress today like they just took a break from mowing the lawn. As you know we've pretty much lost style, standards, morality and self responsibility. All that degeneration is reflected in manner of dress, and in conversation.

Yes. Well, $15 in the dollars of those days might be $75 now... inflation.

We still have quite a bit of that here where we're located, and also friendly phone calls (chatty too, mainly among the women). The Millenials do seem to text a lot. Socializing among them seems to be of a very different variety.

Anyone here 88 years old like me, or even older?! If not that old, yikes, do I still have a spot here? o_O

Nothing really except Black Jack gum which you can't get anywhere anymore.
However, l just found out that Amazon has them!!! AMAZON, MY HERO!!!

A time when people took responsibility for themselves & their actions. Victims that were treated as a victim of crime and not coddling the criminal as if they are the innocent one.

When people were willing to stop what ever they were doing & help people at the spur of the moment when something happened.

I also miss when people took pride in their appearance & wore decent clothes in public ... and you didn't need to be rich to do that.

I also miss not being able to buy a stick shift vehicle. Just a plain car without all of gee-whiz gadgets that you don't need or want.

I miss comedians like George Carlin who made you laugh & no one was worried about upsetting the Woke.

I also miss when people got up every morning & went to work to bring home a paycheck. They didn't expect a handout from the government for their entire life from cradle to the grave.

When we were looking for a new car, the salesman asked what we wanted. My first words was I want a stick shift. He apologized & said the model we wanted didn't come in a stick. Ford only makes a stick in the Mustang. Now, I would love to have a Mustang however I'd get into trouble I think 😁.

The clothes became a big pet peeve for my husband when he seen people come down to the Federal Court Building in flannel pajama pants & fuzzy slippers when he worked there.
