Karen Carpenter as you might not have seen her before

As I remember, being the drummer was what she really wanted to do. Circumstances wound up pushing into the vocalist position. Of course the was also an outstanding singer as well. Search YouTube for Karen Carpenter isolated vocals and witness the purity and clarity of her voice.

Her voice was soothing. She sang songs that made me want to close my eyes and just lay back and relax. Her death was a tragic affair. Good drummer, sure. But her singing was special, and it would have been a shame not to have that come out.
 
Extremely outstanding vocalist. Never sought the limelight but was forced into it by audience request. A true shame that she had to leave us so soon!

Good drummer too!
