Things you like to do in the dark?

Remember the old slumber party thang? You stood before a mirror in the complete darkness and said, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary" and a scary face was supposed to appear? Never made an appearance at any slumber party I attended, but we did do a lot of screaming in anticipation.

There was also chewing peppermints (or was it spearmints?) with your mouth open in front of the mirror in the dark, dark, dark. Sparks were supposed to appear but I only got a hint of that happening one time and it could have been my imagination.

Ghost stories in the dark on camping trips with the narrator holding the flashlight under his or her chin, making them look creepy.

And, of course, there was Spin-the-Bottle and the required minute in the dark closet with whoever the bottle chose for you. Usually someone who didn't want to be in the closet with YOU or someone YOU didn't want to be in the closet with. Not that *I* would have ever gone in a dark closet with a boy.....huh-uh, not me, no way...well, maybe once or twice or.....
 
We’ve got quite a few solar lights in our back garden got lantern shaped hanging ones x 6 and about 5 statue types …and 5 colour changing one that throw thin lines on light like a spider web they are so pretty ….so I usually go out to our smallish back yard to admire our little bit of paradice nicely lit up before we go to bed.

Out home is ok almost 1/4 acre but allot of the land is taken up by the house / shed / garaport where we stored our caravan as well as a huge back verandah and fruit trees ….so out back yard is fairly small

@ Jujube, I am remembering two of the ones you mentioned: opening your mouth in front of the mirror
in the dark and sparks appearing lol, was not your imagination, because I saw them too :LOL: and it was chewing
peppermints best I remember..

Spin the bottle and going into a dark closet with whoever the bottle chose for you, that was a FUN. 😊

The dark can be so scary at times 🫣

@ Kadee, it does sound like a bit of paradise, I really like seeing those solar lights hanging outdoors lit up
and they do look pretty ☺️

Oh I miss those guys from my time living in Maryland just outside DC. I was so disappointed when we went to Bethesda for Lia to get examined at the NIH and I never saw any of them in spite of looking every late afternoon/early evening. I stayed here while she was in hospital. Was I there at the wrong time of the year?

One time a few of us got a story going about ghosts haunting a hotel during a conference.... On the 3rd night around 11.... we gained access to the roof and repelled down on different sides.... tapping on windows....
from 18th down to the 12th floor.....
