Makes ya wonder if those constant calls you were getting in... what was it, June? were from that, doesn't it? Security issue at the end of December... and calls about owing a debt a few months later.... those breaches are often how the scammers find their victims.

The calls had stopped for a while, then I started getting them again in October. I received more than 20 calls, all from different numbers, but never more than one a day. Now, for the moment, they have stopped. I did report them to the Do Not Call registry and the FCC. I researched the phone numbers and they all indicated they originated from Midland Credit Management which is a debt collection service. I am obsessive about getting bills paid and couldn't understand why I would be put into collection especially since I received no postal notifications or legitimate calls from a business.
The only thing I could think of was that I had the outdoor pole light repaired in April 2022. The electrician came when I wasn't home and was done by the time I came back. He did not leave a bill. A few days later I called him and he said he'd have to check his records. That was the last I heard from him. He could have mailed me a bill or stopped sometime since he lives just down the street - no need to put me in debt collection for something probably less than $200. However, this is just speculation on my part, but the only thing I could think of on which I owe money, unless he did it as a house warming gift.

I don't know "where it ends", Deb, but I've read more than once lately that if you get one of those data breach letters, hold onto it. Sometimes there is a massive class action suit in which they'd send you more info about joining.
