Delivery fees are a rip off

Yes, but Amazon prime isn't free so you have to order quite a lot to make it worth while. Sometimes there is a free trial for a month which is OK, but you must remember to cancel it.
yes but it's only £90 a year... £1.70 per week... for free delivery, chosen day.. and also with prime you get everything else..tv, films.. loads of stuff.. anyone that shops online regularly is silly not to have Prime..

I only buy from Amazon if I can't get things elsewhere, so that's maybe once or twice a year. I have no interest in the 'perks' that may come with it, so Amazon prime is not for me.
As for rip-off delivery charges, I get furious when firms try to charge extra for delivery by saying that I live in the Highlands and Islands. When I point out that I do NOT live there, they blame the delivery companies. I've reported a number of companies to Trading standards, but nobody seems to care.

Very prevalent in the business community. Once they have your money, bugger off. :(

I try to pick up as much as I can. My son has a big duel wheels Chevrolet pickup with an 8 foot bed. That thing is a monster. He uses it to tow his boat, so it works out for both of us. I think he told me he gets about 15 mpg when empty. We just bought a new refrigerator at Lowe’s and they charged $39. I told them I would gladly pay the delivery costs. That way, we didn’t have to lug out the old one and lug in the new one, except we had to lug the old one to the junkyard, which paid us enough to cover the gas and lunch and we got $50 from the electric company for buying a high efficiency unit.

BTW, he’s selling his old boat if anyone in the Pennsylvania area is interested. I can send you pictures. Great deal at $26,000 with the trailer. Like new condition. He baby’s all of his possessions.

I order quite a bit of household stuff most months, and I figure I make up the membership fee in what I would pay in shipping costs, if nothing else--sort of pays for itself.

yes I don't understand why so many companies..well nearly all, say they can't deliver to the highlands, or the IOW..or isle of man or Jersey... ridiculous...
