'Dad' distracted by video game forgets dying 2 year old in hot car

It seems obvious to me. Those parents didn't deserve children and the Lord says, "Nuff is Nuff!"

Probably lots of young parents, older parents have to have a wake up! They drive around with a 14 Pro on the dash Ear pod in an ear and talk-talk-talk too. They shop talking, driving, in the kitchen cooking or the work shop. There needs to be a moving shut off except emergency installed in the thing.

U no I just invented the distressed child alert system, a child, anyone screams, cries and LEO are notified of Distress at the location. Did you read it here first. A mobile / stopped Auto distress calling option !

Our vehicles are already equipped with "the vehicle is moving, you cannot connect your phone until auto has stopped moving." Why not
a "U R moving, your Phone is on Pause until you pull over and stop feature too." Why is your phone is connected now you can do anything you want to with your 14 Pro as long as the battery lasts," the facts?

Not just another case of a child or pet left in a hot car. Video gamers have done this before and for many these gamers might as well be addicted to crack. They sure as heck act like a junky.

Ya! I went to Tim Horton for a nice bowl of chili. Most people were addicted and starring at their phones. Only me, another older lady and a couple of chatty ladies were not. The younger, the greater the addiction. Young people seemed to have some sort of strange love affair with the light emitting from those phones.

Many just want to stay connected with their friends etc. Not one moment of just solitude, privacy. Search for the goodness of friendships ?
 

Update

Some new information including the dad was on the internet shopping clothes and porn for at least 1/2 hour that afternoon so not all time was playing games.

The suspect also caught shoplifting beer that same day while picking up his girls. And drank some of them in the store restroom which means he was driving his kids around with alcohol in his system. His excuse for leaving her in the car was she was asleep so he didn't want to disturb her.The temperature that day was 108 degrees.

It was also noted he would speed with kids in the car and had one complaint about leaving kids in the car going back to 2019. It seems he was/is a cocaine addict because there comments about him substituting the coke with alcohol.

So basically a pos dad.
 
I got left in the car a few times when I was little. Never thought much about it. One time out in Nevada my old man left me in the car while he went in to this bar for a "shot and a beer". That was one of his favorites. Having your dad leave you in the car while he goes into a bar for a shot and a beer is so much more manly than having your dad leave you to go play video games. It was at night so I doubt it was very hot. At least I don't remember being uncomfortable. Definately no A/C back then. I was either 4 or 5 so that would have been about 1952.

I remember that he came out after a while with this old guy in cowboy clothes and a big white beard and my dad told me that it was Buffalo Bill and that he was 105 years old. That was just like my dad to come up with some bullshit story to entertain me. Of course being a little kid I bought it and thought it was pretty cool. I remember when we got home which at that time was a trailer my mom was pretty pissed at him and they ahd a big fight.
 
I received a call from the 911 operator that a lady reported a small child and a dog in the backseat of a red Chevrolet Malibu parked in the Lowes parking lot about 4 rows from the front of the building. When I arrived and found the vehicle, I knocked on the window, but the child was asleep. The dog, a wiener, (Dachshund), seemed OK, but was panting heavily.

I used my punch tool to break the window and gain entry. The child, was 3 y/o and woke crying. She was scared and confused, no doubt. I called for the EMT’s to come and check her out. The dad finally showed up at the same time as the EMT’s. He said he was only inside for less than 10 minutes. It was 96 degrees that day. The Lowes’s cameras said differently by putting him inside for 23 minutes.

The medical examiner listed the child as “at risk.” We charged him with Child Endangerment and had the mother come to the barracks to pick up her child. The DA tacked on 2 other charges, including cruelty to animals and he was released on $10,000 bail.

At trial, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and because he was the main wage earner in the house, the judge took it easy on him. He ended up paying a $1000 fine, plus costs and a 90-day sentence in county jail with 60 days forgiven and was allowed out to work. In the county he was in, he was released at 6 a.m. and had to be back and checked in by 6 p.m. He did show remorse.

I think he was just careless in my opinion. He said they got to talking and time just slipped by him.

The article says she's a doctor, so, yes, she could have afforded a babysitter since her husband is a self-centered, lying, thieving, alcoholic murderer. When the police arrested him, right after the death, she was comforting him, telling him she loved him and defending him. She still is. I guess she loves her career and that creep more than her children.
