I have a critter in my microwave vent.
Yesterday morning I noticed a scratching sound. It was bigger than a bug. DH didn't hear it when he got up and thought I was hearing it off the TV.
Then he heard it and we narrowed it down to the vent tube above the over the range microhood. He banged hoping it was a bird that was trying to build a nest.
It's back this morning and seems louder than yesterday. I think a lizard maybe fell in and can't get out. There is a cover on the vent but maybe it has a small hole somewhere.
I'm afraid it will die in there. 😮

Good morning. It's raining as promised and still even warmish. Yay!

Today I'm gonna...wait for it...scrub the kitchen and bathroom floors. Yup. Gonna do it. There are other things on my to-do list, but whether they'll get done today remains to be seen.

I read yesterday that some brazen dudes broke into Windsor Castle. What? How is that possible?

@hollydolly Move to Cardiff? Maybe you should. It's not like Cardiff is in the wilderness. How long a drive to London, how long by train, how far away from where your DD lives?

Or if not Cardiff, consider other places besides London where the cost of living is lower.

I forgot to ask...did you get sNOw at your house?

Spent the afternoon yesterday playing with my GGS. He's so funny, but getting concerned when Mommy leaves the room. Very attached to her.

She brought home-made chicken soup, I happened to make fried rosemary and onion potatoes especially, since I did not want the 'taters to sprout, also a salad with some Feta cheese. Baby ate a little Pastina and some strained carrots. I even dreamed about him last night!

This morning when I let doggie out, I smelled smoke. Strongly. I couldn't see an actual haze, but there sure as heck is a fire somewhere!

Last night I attempted to tear off a piece of foil.....and dropped the roll onto the floor! You know you can never re-roll foil properly. So now I have a big, lumpy roll.

Oh, just heard there are 4 brush fires around CT! There are firefighters from other states and Quebec that have come to CT's aid over this month to help with various fires. Bless them. Thankfully, rain is forecast for Thursday!

On my early walk at 6:50 temp was 40 as I walked around the building, saw another lovely sunrise with orange& red with some clouds
Yesterday morning, Marcia emailed& asked if I was available to dog sit with my 'buddy boy' Tage for a couple of hrs today, she'll pick me up at 11.I'll be bringing my usual lunch we can 'share' tuna fish, petite carrots,a apple
Last time which was 2 weeks ago, Tage was in the car when she picked me up. He was so excited to see me whole body was wiggling,he licked my left ear
When I get home ck my mail, read today''s NYT until I go for dinner in dining room at 5:30. I never know who I will be sitting with. I'd say around 95% of the time I am seated with other residents I like and enjoy their company. There are a couple residents I don;t like sitting with, when that happens I grin&bare it

I am taking my husband to the doctor and I am worried about his tests and what they suggest as he is suffering with pain in his leg and has other health conditions. After that I hope to enjoy something with him this afternoon, watching a DVD or taking a short drive.

Today will be another day to recoup and regroup. Yesterday at project house #1 we got almost all the smaller issues completed. Poor Don must of got up and down from the floor 50 times while changing out outlets…could not figure out why they were wired all cock-a-mannie. Took forever. I touched up paint…scrubbed, caulked, two dump runs….Should be out tomorrow…after hardest job…grout haze on floors….

Gigi.... too far from DD... 5 hours in horrible british traffic jams.. and the same to London.... truly most people with any brain takes the train in and out of Wales if they live anywhere near the Capital city Londinium...

With regard looking for cheaper properties I have been looking further afield..however house prices have gone through the roof... unintended pun... and really to get something really nice in my price bracket I'd have to end up in Scotland... and that's defeatiing the object off moving to soemwhere that has plenty social life available for me..

yes we had snow all morning this morning..great big huge flakes... but the rain came and melted all away while I was out, so it's been pretty yukky day weather wise here

It's 3.30, anothe 3/4 of an hour it will be sunset...

I was in the dentist chair for far longer than I was expecting..almost an hour. if I'd known, I wouldn't have gone. Anyway..2 Big fillings right next to each other.. and the numbing is just starting to wear off now... he said this will be sore for a day or 2..... but there's still a chance that one of the teeth will have to be taken out, so I have to go back in 2 weeks ...

Traffic was quiet on the roads.. thankfully because of the snow and sleet....

I came out of the dentist.. and went for drink at the pub, even the pub was relatively quiet and this was lunchtime when it's usually full to the brim wth no tables available..... .. then I went into the jewellers opposite....and sold some Gold rings.. my wedding ring, engagement ring, eternity ring..all gone and money in my pocket.. so that took the sting out of the dentist bill...

This is where I was today..this exact spot.. the pub is on the right, you can see the outdoor seating... the jewellers on left directly opposite the monument ..I took this picture a few years ago...but it's still exactly the same today

Then bought myself some Tan Winter ankle boots with thick tread ( like mountaineer boots) and fur around the ankle... .. then a few groceries just to top up what I've got in case the weather stays bad and I don't want to go out...

I 've had 2 hours sleep in the 36 hours..I'm just having a cuppa tea , I think when I've had that I'll go downstairs and turn on the tv..I'll be asleep in minutes very likely..

I wonder if people really ever read the details on an auction site. When I listed the sofa, I had every bit i of info you could think of on there..the dimensions , how old it was .. the fact it had to be dismantled, everything..but did that stop the woman asking me questions every single day about the size., . the age.. and could I dismantle it for her. ?....nope..

Equally I have a desk up for sale.. all the info is there... but I've already had 2 people message asking what the measurements are

yesterday I sold a brand new winter coat, it's a very padded substantial coat and will cost a lot to post, so I put for collection only. Someone bought it using Buy it now.. and then when I asked her to let me know when she going to collect . said she didn't realise it was collection only and she really needs it posted... I'm gonna post it, and I'll add the postage to her bill.. but really..why can't people read a whole advert.. it's not war & peace FGS..😖

Thank you all for responding with the likes on my post about my husband and his doctor visit. He received a prescription for pain and lots of suggestive referrals to specialists. I wish one doctor could take care of all his ailments but that is they way it is now.
Ohhh don't we all wish that...we had a doctor who could be our Panacea....

I'm pleased your husband has been given some pain relief, and hopefully the list of possible referrals will find him a doctor who is going to really help him

Is it still true that red sky at night is sailors delight and red sky in morning is sailors warning?
