The Stores Are Crazy Out There Shoppers!

I usually just thrift shop, grocery shop and occasionally to Walmart.

Today I went to Barnes and Noble to get the latest cozy mystery in a series I like, the craft store, Target and BevMo. OMG! So many people and kids. I don't know if the schools are out. I will need to grocery shop by Wednesday. Planning my strategy. WINCO Foods, real early, Trader Joe's, middle of the day tomorrow. I don't know...

At BevMo I got peppermint schnapps. I haven't had alcohol in years. I'm going to order some dairy free hot chocolate mix from Amazon and toss a little schnapps in there.

Lines everywhere.

I've gone out of town for the week. This morning I headed to a brand new small Walmart for some supplies.

It was practically deserted and I was literally attacked by employees. "Can I help you find anything? Is there something you're looking for that you can't find? Let me help you!" I even had a manager push my cart out to the lot.

I thought for a moment that I was still asleep in bed and just dreaming that I had gone to the store. Maybe I had died and gone to heaven.......

Maybe I'll go back tomorrow just for the novelty of it.

I got groceries today. Didn't see any mobs.

When I got to the checkout two people were ahead of me and went though very quickly. I was probably buying 10 times as much as them since I had let my stocks run low. I usually only go out every two weeks or so, maybe getting a little fresh produce in between.

That's the beauty of having grown kids that love to cook. My wife is making the turkey (blech, gag, but that's another story for another time), and the kids bring the rest.

I'm going 'short shopping' tomorrow (just the basics), because it just happens to be my day off. I don't mind the crowds. It's just a matter of being mentally prepared. I know it's going to be crowded.
