What have you bought recently?

ordered an 8,000 btu window air conditioner for the bedroom. Will be installing day after tomorrow. The portable A/C that I currently have just ain't doing the job anymore.

On another thread, I mentioned that my body furnace runs at full blast all the time. Yes, I use an air conditioner in the winter (though it ain't winter here yet and won't be until maybe January). It got to the low 70s yesterday.

After my kitchen remodel about 8 years ago, one area gets too little light. The ceiling is angled, open beam so no ceiling power or easy way to install lighting. There's a wall outlet (near the floor) that's controlled by a switch, so running a chain up and suspending a light wouldn't be difficult, but it's so 1970s-ish that I've been hesitant.

Most with my challenge now enclose beams to create hollow openings in the ceiling, then install recessed lighting. I'm loath to do that partly because I don't want to deal with the mess and expense, and partly because I like the open beam look.

I'm going to talk to DH this morning about going with a light on a chain, and to heck with whether it's in style or out. Let the next owners of this house figure out a more permanent solution if they so desire.
home styles and colors from the 60s and 70s are back in. It is all over the internet, the retro look, you will be right on trend.

Thank you so much for your kind remarks regarding my wife's health, I appreciate that. She's not out of the woods just yet, but I do see that positive smile that gives me confidence. I tell her that we are going to emulate my grandparents, married for seventy-five years and died within three months of each other.

A wide pair of mustard jeans you say, well the trousers below are a bit lighter than mustard and they are wool not denim, but they are certainly wide: They have a higher waist line with a fish tail design.

The blue suit is made from linen, don't ever have something made from linen. Look at the crumpled trousers. My tailor pleaded with me to use a 25% synthetic mix to give the linen structure. I didn't listen, I knew best, what an expensive error. The photo was taken at an Hawaiian themed wedding, my collar and tie gave way to an Aloha shirt for the reception.

It takes time to recover but, hopefully, you two have many more dances to come.

I don't mind the crumpled linen look but, if I want linen trousers to look a little less crumpled, I use a little bit of spray starch when I iron them.

Love that shirt btw.

Yes! my mustard jeans! Not as wide as your trousers! My favourite jacket has a mustard thread going through it and the jeans are exactly the right colour so, that's my outfit sorted for the pre-Christmas friends' lunch. I think wide leg jeans look smarter than narrow ones. :)

Yesterday at Trader Joe's, bought a large $8, 28 ounce crumb apple pie. Given current circumstances, I expect to experience this Thursday's holiday alone. So no usual feast. But along with some vanilla ice cream that pie will have to do with some phone calls.
If you want to drive down to So Cal, I'd be pleased to have you join my family gathering, David.

I have a $76 pickup order at Walmart today (wouldn't dream of entering the store the day before TG). 24 pack of canned dog food, some vegan yogurt (for a Thanksgiving Waldorf salad), a gallon of windshield washer fluid, frozen snap pea stir-fry vegetable mix, and a few other odds and ends.

At 9:30 this morning the store was empty here.
I don't go into Walmarts because they stress me out and shift my ADHD into overdrive. The stores are overly bright, loud and chaotically laid out for my senses. Same with Target. Just thinking about the chaos at Walmart checkout stands is enough to make me grind my teeth.

I shop online and later that day - or the next, at longest - I can pick up my order. The employees are polite and generally quite efficient.

I feel the same about Walmart and most all in-store shopping, I have to have an electric scooter and that involves waiting to get one and many times the battery going down when it is full...just a hassle. I buy all I can online and have started going to stores early early to eliminate as much as possible.

This pattern is more Paisleyesque than it is true Paisley. The vibrant colours allow me to wear black or dark green hat and trousers or a combination of the two.
For me personally, this is a colour I like least on you...the workmanship is of course second to none.. but i just don't think the colour suits you as well as all the various blue shades and Hawaiian colours
