If my converter is working properly, that's 44.6 F. It's about the same here in the south. That's cold for us; just a few days ago it was 85°F.
I'm in the south as well... not sure if Americans realise that London is in the South....and it's the same here, the South and South east are the hottest part of the country.. the North the coldest.. the west the wettest

Mostly doing holiday chores right now. Indoor & outdoor decorating. With an expected high of 73° it'll be another good weather day for the outdoor portion. Am also making lots of cookie dough.

The first party isn't until Dec 14, so I'm holding off on baking until this Friday. I make 8 entirely different doughs (plus nut-free versions of 3 of them), so a lot of cookie dough and baking. Shipped cookies will start going out late next week through early the following week. USPS Priority Mail delivers in 2-3 days.

Some business packages need to go out today, so want to pull those together early. DH's help will make it much easier, he's far more organized than I am. Happy to say, we work well together. We'll bang those out after breakfast and drive them over to the post office.

Same in North America except the west is the driest. It's also generally a little warmer than the south and southeast, but has much lower humidity.

Well I survived the dentist this time. An hour in the chair, and he didn't take my tooth out.. but he says it does have to come out but he's not going to do it until after Christmas... so that's a reprieve for me today...

After the dentist I went had my nails done then I went to the pub and had some lunch.

I was in a Booth seat, and I could hear these 2 middle aged women with broad Estuary English accents in the next booth talking loudly.. and one says to the other.. '' 'e use to snuggle my neck, all the time, Joan ... 'e was always doin' it, never left me alone .. but then 'e got laryngitis.. and now he don't touch me no more ''...My sister says I'm imaginin' it.. but she don't know him like wot I do...''

Took me all my time not to burst out laughing :ROFLMAO:

Then i stood up to put my coat on and I got sight of the woman doing all the talking, and she looked like Velma from Scooby Doo's ... granny :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As i pulled up at home, when i got back this afternon, my gardener came past, and he said he can come and mow my lawns for me if I want him to... Usually i;ve got them all done and dusted , last mowing in November, but it rained almost all of November, so I never got to mow the lawns, and next doors' tree has shed its leaves all over my back lawn.. so the grass is about 4 inches long, and sodden leaves.. so my gardener guy ( the tree surgeon ).. is going to come and mow the grass, as soon as it;s a dry day..

So far we have missed the lake effect snow storm!
Can watch it on TV.

Oldest son is on his way back to MI.
Not sure if he will be here for Christmas.

The hunters didn't get a deer Saturday, saw lots of deer.

It was cold & windy, both were chilled through their heavy coats.

Youngest son hasn't came down stairs. ?? !!??

My roots are on the OH/PA border so I’ve been watching the storm on the Weather Channel. Glad you missed all the snow. My brother still lives in NE Ohio and said they barely missed the big storm but they di get the freezing cold.

Does Ohio & PA still prohibit Sunday deer hunting?

One of the biggest burrs under my saddle, living in Tennessee, is they allow Sunday hunting. I have commented on numerous occasions if a hunter can’t bag a deer Monday thru Saturday, they might be better off trading the rifle for a Bible, get to church, and let me ride my horse one day a week without fear of getting shot——

Monday woke up to a minor strain maybe a tendon or muscle or ligament at the top of my right femur. Don't know how or why? Maybe near the tensor fasciae latae muscle, TFL as lateral movement cause minor pain. Seems better this Tuesday morning. So will be not too active this next week, staying home, healing.

Last night Amazon delivered my $15 replacement TV remote so will be able to operate the TV from a distance again. Old remote buttons increasingly wore out to opens. Note no cable TV just OTA and receive maybe 80 to 110 channels depending on weather. Probably this week stuck at home not moving much, when not on the web, will watch some Story Television and NHK, F24, and DW channels that are mostly information, news, and science.

Today likely to drive a couple miles to a Trader Joe's and experiment trying a few more of their $3.99 salads that are well rated in web reviews. Also maybe one of their sweet wines since just web searched for that. A great treat more healthy than ice cream is their $0.99 Greek Strawberry Vanilla yogurt after adding a heaping spoonful of brown sugar swirled in.

I put some decorations up today. It took about an hour to get them down from the attic and put them up. 👏
I thought to ask DH what his favorite decoration is so I could be sure to put it up.
He said, "The tree. I always love the tree with all the decorations from over the years." 😮
I said, "Well, you are perfectly welcome to get it down and put it up."
We will be sticking to a few this year I think. 🤗

Partly sunny day but at least we're approaching freezing. So more leaves.

No more pickup so I'll have to dump them out back in the treeline or hold them until Spring. At least I have the gutter leaves cleared at the street now which will make snow removal easier. We got spared the heavy snows around us so far.

One tree dropped its leaves very late after a couple of inches of snow fell. So I still have to work on getting those picked up before they kill the grass this winter.

That reminds me, I need to get to silicone-spraying the snow blower auger and discharge chute. I hate poking out clogs when the snow gets wet.

Almost 1:30 PM. I should eat something today.

Having a 1/2 cup of afternoon coffee as I sit down to finish one last chart from work yesterday.

Been a busy morning…. Cooked bean/ham/sausage soup, had a good counseling session, stopped at the library and picked up a book, had a pedicure.

Still got to go t the grocery store for some essentials, then I have the pleasure of planning for Sunday lunch with friends ☺️🎂❤️

You are correct, I did not realize that. My impression of England was that it rains all the time! I appreciate the information.

That sounds like a great day!!!!

Your soup sounds delicious!!!

this is something that always needs correcting..goodness knows where people get the idea that it rains all the time in the UK... for everyone's information..a couple of facts..

It rains 22 more days per year in Miami Florida than it does in London.... in Sydney Australia, it rains 38 more days per year than it does in London...

In Florida the average summer rainfall is 6.7 inches compared to London just 2.5 inches

London doesn't even make the top 15 rainiest cities in the US alone.... New York for example has Double the amount of rain that London gets..

In fact London has 259 days per year where it doesn't rain... and only an average of 10 rainy days in the whole of summer!

Oh, Hawkie, try not to cry over spilled milk. 🌹

I lied. I said I cut way down on Christmas cards. I was getting out some things and took out my box that I keep extra Christmas cards, themed address labels, money envelopes, etc. I decided to go on and use up these last Christmas cards. Weird because I had just enough to send to the friends and family that I wanted to.
I hope the receivers of said cards don't feel like they have to reciprocate. I didn't want to write "Last card!" in them...seemed tacky.😊
BTW, here is an example of what I was talking about repurposing block decor and old Christmas cards.

Oh no! I know that made you mad! 🤗

Well got up earlier, and had a GREAT sleep last night, which is very unusual... Went to the pharmacy to get my meds, then to the health store to get my essential vitamins, then get a few groceries, and noticed gas was 10 cents cheaper than where we were. So filled the truck, and she took $80 for a quarter tank, but she's full now... Then came home, and started to build the dishwasher cabinet... Tomorrow, I need to screw the countertop down, and a few little things, and it's done...Now to do the backsplash, probably start Thursday or Friday... and then the kitchen will be complete... Thinking of maybe putting a cabinet around the refrigerator, but haven't convinced myself yet... Tomorrow we are supposed to get 10 - 15cm of snow...Oh, joy...
