Neighborhoods full of kids having fun.

When I was growing up kids were everywhere having fun. Sidewalks full hopscotch markings. Kick ball and dodge ball. Every empty lot had a game going on and kids built treehouses. I don't see any of that anymore........or even kids. I saw a kid the other day and had to do a double take. I forgot what they looked like. Now we have neighborhoods full strangers.

One kid walks past dribbling to the neighborhood basketball court, used to be 3 or 4.

Kids used to be seen riding their electric hover boards.

Now they just walk with thumbs working the smart phones.

The playgrounds and parks mostly deserted, maybe an LEO eating their lunch / doing paperwork parked there.
Bike paths mostly deserted also. $$$ millions wasted.

Neighbor down the street has 3 kids & had tread mills delivered to his home.
Maybe they walk them and shoot each other with air-soft guns? ... :ROFLMAO:

Yes, don't even see playing in the snow or having snowball fights.

I know so many children, don't know why you men don't. So many in my neighborhood, and especially my son's neighborhood on swanky UES. There are four fabulous children on my own floor.

I see the local kids walking to and from school but rarely see any out doing chores in the yard or roaming the neighborhood with their friends.

I see the kids in my extended family doing things, on Facebook posts, that require adult supervision, transportation, and money.

I think most kids lead a more structured life than I did growing up.

I’m not sure if it’s good, bad, or just different.

When I'm trying to watch TV and get aggravated by the sound of a basketball banging up and down in the neighbor's drive next door, I try to remind myself I was young once.

Kids are all out here still... they're on their bikes, their scooters, playing with basketballs and footballs .. the whole 9.. but even the smallest ones seem to have a mobile phone on them .Well that's ok if that's the way mum wants them to be safe when out playing these days..

It's not until they get to be young teens here maybe 13 or so.. that I see them walking along in groups, looking at their phones.. screeching with laughter at something.. or playing music loudly on them, or even taking selfies as they walk along ... but under that age they're all still out playing here...
