Why would I suddenly see this on Facebook?

It's basically just a change in brand name. Like when Musk changed Twitter to X, Zuckerberg changed Facebook to Meta.

It doesn't effect you. It only effects Zuckerberg's profits. (or so he hopes)
 
I now see the Meta icon when i open facebook, too. This morning, people are reporting that their facebook page is not working right, or possibly, their whole history of posts is completely gone.
When I went to my facebook page, the main page with ads and such is still there and scrolls down like usual, but then i went to my profile page, which is what shows all of my personal facebook posts, there is nothing there to show now.

I imagine that this is maybe some kind of a glitch and they will get it worked out, but otherwise, people have lost their whole facebook history. It is apparently affecting other Meta website, like Instagram, too.
 
News reported earlier this evening that Meta was down most of the morning and still having issues staying up in the afternoon.
