In your view, what inventions or people changed the course of history?

Computers are an essential part of most of our lives. Thanks to computers, space exploration became a reality and medical science became far more advanced. The first to be patented were created by Johan Mauchly and Presper Eckert in 1946. It was called ENIAC and was based on the theory of Alan Turing 10 years earlier. This was the computer which all that were to follow were based on.

Often considered the father of modern computer science, Alan Turing was famous for his work developing the first modern computers, decoding the encryption of German Enigma machines during the second world war, and detailing a procedure known as the Turing Test, forming the basis for artificial intelligence.

As far as people go, there are so many to list but I am going out of the box and mention Gavrilo Princip. He assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and the effect of that action is still being felt today.
You are in cahoots with Radish in an OVERT attempt to highjack bobcats OP! The NERVE!! LOL (wink)

Theory of relativity. (Oops - is this an invention?)

Unlikely, as it is was just a "theory"...but has it been proven? Well, yes: bending of light.

It's what I was taught in high school and college. And from memory, I think it might have also been on QI years ago.
I enjoy hanging with people with intelligence and thinking power, as opposed to those who type into computer keyboards fast. Two different skills.
