As my 30 year old step daughter entered the pool she looked at me and said "wow you are an Adonis".

Knowing I was fat and butt-ugly I responded "ha ha I am so fat my boobs are twice your size" (she was undersized).

She immediately left and I never got in a pool with her again.
 

I know there have been some instances but I can't recall right now. I have a friend who said to a woman "Congratulations! When are you due?" and she was not pregnant but had just put on weight in her mid-section. That is a "Go hide in a closet" moment!

Stepdaughter. You basically told her you had been "eyeballing" her breasts and knew what size they were. Had nothing to do with the size of her breasts. Is disgusting when any supposedly trusted "father" "uncle" "Dad" figure makes such a comment.

I find it hard to believe you even brought it up here.

You are right it was a crude remark. I should have immediately apologized.

I think your remark was obviously funny and self deprecating. I don't know why she took such offence, you didn't insult her.

Thank you ! It was meant to be self deprecating. I
learned then, and again here, that comments can be misconstrued .. especially men's comments about women.

We've all done it. Best thing is be kind to yourself, I don't think you did anything at all terrible.
In my view people are way too sensitive these days and it is rather tedious!
