Had a great trip to Melbourne.

It was a very special time with all my lovely family. Great photos to remember the day and a video of me singing with my two sisters, my father always said we sounded like the Andrew Sisters. Did plenty of walking with my 2 sons and when I tallied up the steps on my phone, I'd done 42,435 steps or 29.7 klm in 5 days , would be a world record for me. The only downside to the trip was when we arrived at Melbourne airport and my son picked up his bag, he discovered it was
totally trashed, there were 3 large tears one side and the handle on the top was bent. He immediately went to the Service Desk to complain, and they said to go online and put in a complaint, they couldn't have cared less. So, I'm giving JET STARR a big thumbs down for Customer Service. That case had travelled to many countries and not even a scratch on it.

Manatee: I have gone to Melbourne many times on the train and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Glad you enjoyed it, and you did see more than if you had flown.
When we were in Melbourne and wanted to go to Sydney, we thought about it and took the train. The folks on the train were friendly and sociable. We got to see more than if we had flown. It was quite different from home in Florida.

Welcome home Oscash... delighted that you had a fab trip to see your family.. was it hot there yet ?

Sorry your sn's bag was trashed... makes you sick doesn't it ?
hollydolly: Glad to be back home. The weather was so changeable. When we arrived, it was so cold with strong winds, had to borrow my sister's jacket, the next day it was high in the 30c. The plane trip back was marred by some fellow who couldn't find his passport and thought it might be in the baggage area, so they had to unload the plane's cargo looking for the bag which resulted in our plane being one and half hours late. Not too happy with the passengers. The joys of travel.

I took my daughter by train, to Melbourne (from Adelaide) on the Overlander. We spent the weekend, and both loved Melbourne. Wish I could have lived there 🤗
