Inmate beaten to death by prison employees

What was his crime ?..I read he was in prison for assault......serving 12 years...

That video is horrific, in truth when I clicked on it, I was expecting footage from a Russian or Eastern European prison.... absolutely shocking this has happened in New York...

Those 4 officers and the medical staff who stood by and watched him bleed ..need to be arrested as well... they all need to be sent to prison as their punishment.. let them be on the other ed of a severe beating by other officers...and Inmates....

I'm guessing the officers either weren't tech savvy enough to grasp that incriminating evidence was being collected, or they thought that the footage would remain "in house" and secured, by sympathetic administrators...

I watched that a few times to see the reaction of all the cops there. I think they knew they were on film and didn't care. They seemed to be in some kind of fenzy.
I wonder how this will play out for them over the course of time.

this is what happens in pack mentality.... I can''t even begin to think what excuse they can give for this killing of a helpless individual...
 
It looks fake to me. They aren't Law Enforcement Officers. They are from a contracted facility.

They are not police officers. They are just prison guards.

They are not cops aka law enforcement officers. They are prison guards: aka babysitters.

Nathan, you're an ex prison officer aren't you...?.. if anyone can go any way to explaining anything like this it might be you... have you ever seen anything like happen when you were a officer ?

I didn't say they were Police officers.......but prison guards... prisonron warde..or prison officers whatever anyone calls them..... are just as liable to keep the peace as a police officers .. in many ways their job is harder because they're at the mercy , usually outnumbered by serious ofenders.. so i wouldn't dismiss them as being less than police officer..and we've watched what American police oficers can do to people who didn't' need to be kicked to death....

This is the first time we've seen prison officers doing a Floyd on a man who couldnt fight back

No they are not "just as liable to keep the peace as a police officer".
The educational levels, not standards are not as high to become a correctional institution guards.
They are also paid less than police officers, by quite a large amount, therefore the quality of the personnel isn't as good as police officers.

I also have a problem when this sort of behavior is attributed to cops.

Not all cops are bad; not all prison guards are bad.

It is bad to become part of a mob mentality in either direction.

Agree, Dusty. They sure did, if this video is accurate.

I just deplore the media, though, they sensationalize and thrive on feeding frenzies we see far too often. And then it gets completely attributed to it being a "COP". My son is a law enforcement officer...and during the riots and the BLM garbage, I could hardly sleep fearing some frenzied idiots would kill him - for ZERO reason.

Cops and correctional guards are both in a position of trust and anytime someone crosses the line, it is HORRIBLE - ESPECIALLY for those law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line and ARE trustworthy.

Anyone and everyone needs to spend four 12 hour shifts with a law enforcement officer on the streets before CONDEMNING law enforcement officers. I have son who is a large city police officer, TWO in my family who were State Troopers, and one who was a county Sheriff.

You want to see the DREGS of society these officers have to deal with every single shift??

LEOs must have a license and are held to a higher standard than guards (Federal prisons are different; state prisons are even different than that; in the US many prisons have contracted guards, etc.).

99% of Leos are good people. It is the 1% the media focuses on, just to stir frenzie so they can get clicks.

Just as disgusting as those officers: so called journalists and news agencies who caused the HATE we saw during BLM riots.
