Not for all of us. i've kept Journals off and on since my teens write poetry, and carried on voluminous correspondence with a half dozen friends thru the late 1960s and well into the 70s. I blogged regularly on Eons (the first Senior site i was ever on).

Still read a lot, mostly non fiction and prefer books by actual scientists and historians than reading clickbait articles on my computer news feed.

As for idioms, while there are times they get a message across i tend to prefer conversations that are more original and personal.
