This showed up in my YouTube feed. It looks like a hell of a show!

Featuring The Birds (with Clarence White), Albert King, and Van Morrison

Went to Fillmore East every week, unless I was in England. Usually ate at restaurant on Second Ave & I believe E. 3? St. I think it was called Seed. They gave free tea to anyone. I loved their tempura & brown rice. My first NYC apt. was on First Ave. between E. 12th & 13th.

I loved that theater. Played there twice, the first time in April, 1968, then in February, 1969. Bill Graham owned (or leased) both the Filmore East and West (SF), and Winterland (SF). I was saddened when they closed it and made into apartments and a bank. The Filmore West had no seats, and had been a dance hall. I think Winterland was the same way.

There was a kosher or "dairy" restaurant a block or two up 2nd Ave. from the Filmore that we went to a few times. It may have been called Ratner's. Great home cooked food, and the interior later reminded me of the restaurant in The Godfather where Michael murders Sollozzo and Capt. McCluskey. It was old fashioned with dark wood paneling, and tables with white tablecloths.
