Shoppers versus return policies.

Amazon has a fairly good policy however it’s no good without Canada post.
Near the end of the strike I found out that Amazon made arrangements with some retail stores to return there. No boxing back up; scanned and refund was within an hour. I won’t set foot in CP now for a return.

When Costco gets a return, they sell things off in bulk to clearance stores.

If I shop in charity store and change my mind afterwards, I donate it back right away. Nothing costs too much.

I return items to Amazon and only had a problem once with not having a box to fit the item. They are good with the refunds and I make sure the package is original or box it myself. I only return items that do not fit the problem. I keep clothes, however.

I recently bought a Logitech wireless mouse thru Amazon. The supplier was a third party and they shipped the wrong, (a cheaper), model. It was a real hassle returning the part, it took a good hour of my time plus gas to drive it to a UPS location for the return. It would probably have been much cheaper if Amazon would just eat the cost of incorrectly shipped, low cost items. Freight costs for returns then restocking labor probably costs more than the item is worth. I could have easily verified the wrong item was shipped by attaching a picture when filing the online claim.

I've also had one issue .. through a 3rd party supplier. It was a pain in the butt, but, finally got a refund.
No more 3rd party dealings for me!

As a follow up, I just received the replacement wireless mouse, guess what, it was the same incorrect mouse as the first one. So I get on line to try go find a phone number where I can talk to a person. I could not see any phone number listed on the Amazon website. I tried a chat and finally got to where you could receive a call back.

I finally talked to a person that could understand my problem. Their resolution was to tell me to keep the incorrect item and they will give me a credit. That's not exactly what I wanted but it is likely they would get it wrong again if they shipped a third time.

Amazon is great until it makes a mistake. In hindsight i would have been ahead to go to BestBuy.

That's why I would not buy online even if I had a CC. I like to see what I am buying in person in a brick & mortar store.
That is nice if you have time to go to the store and what you are looking for is available. The closest option to buy clothes is 30+ minutes drive one way and not a well stocked flagship store. Anything better is 45-60 minute one-way drive.
