Is there a trick to pulling in a new draw string to a pair of sweat pants? Tried putting the string on a hanger and simply cannot get it through.

It broke in an odd spot and unable to use the other side.

You could use a bodkin instead of a safety pin. A bodkin is a common sewing tool, defined as a blunt, thick needle with a large eye used especially for drawing tape or cord through a hem.

Double over the end of the drawstring or tie it in a small knot, if the draw string is thin; then slide a safety pin through a loop of the knot or where the drawstring is doubled, if you have chosen to double it.

The drawstring on my sweatpants is sewn in. If yours are sewn in, you'll need to cut the thread that attaches the string to your pants, which would be in the back.

Good Gosh, y'all need a string to hold up sweat pants. I just use my tummy!
