What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Can you please tell me why? I saw an underlying class theme, which is very important in England, but wish it weren't told in that way. It's laying heavy on my heart.
Ok, just watched it for the second time, and can now answer somewhat intelligently: I got really drawn into the first half. It doesn't get weird until almost halfway thru, when Oliver drinks Felix's bath water...but by then I was so invested in the characters and story, and wanted to see what would happen. It's very dark, yes, but also a really good psychological study.

The last movie I watched was Monster Island, a B movie on Tubi that I'd never heard of before. It's engaging so I watched most of it today, something I rarely do. The last movie I finished was American Fiction. Didn't care for it...fast forwarded through part of it. The end confused me.

I loved American Fiction and don't understand why the end confused you.

I loved The Quiet Man (1952)! It's one of my top 3 Wayne films. Directed by the great John Ford, every part of that production was perfect, including of course the wonderful supporting actors Maureen O'Hara, Victor McLaglen, Barry Fitzgerald, and Ward Bond. I've seen it 6-7 times!
I agree with you , such a quaint film , the old Irish Tradition of Courting with a Chaperone going along . times have changed so much .

Ive just watched The Railway Children ,that last scene when her dad gets off the train and she runs to him shouting my daddy .brings a lump to my throat everytime . Its an old English film loved by young and old .

Last night I watched Barbie. Been meaning to catch it and finally got around to it. It was better than I expected - enjoyable fluff. A good cast, and while they had relatively minor roles, Rhea Perlman and Kate McKinnon half-stole the show.

Edited to add - it's playing on Netflix.

Saw The Undoing with Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and and Donald Sutherland. It was an HBO miniseries of 6 episodes on two DVDs. An extremely intense whodunnit murder mystery, so intense that it affected my sleep since I watched late in the evening, so I finished the last episode in the daytime so I could unwind.

Two thumbs up. Recommend if you can find it.

Last night I watched The Road Dance on Netflix. Thought it was excellent.

Amazon's summary: In a small Scottish village at the dawn of World War I, Kirsty (Hermione Corfield) yearns for adventure and another life across the ocean. When the village hosts a road dance for departing soldiers, the sense of community is soon shattered by an unspeakable incident that changes Kirsty's life forever.

Looks so interesting, thanks for recommendation. Google says it is on MAX, which I have.

The Book Thief...not well known. I had read the book, so when I found it at a used video store, I got it. Haunting and heart-breaking story. LOVED IT.
I also read that book and quite liked it. Nice to know the movie was well done. I'll look for it.

Edited to add: My public library has that on DVD so I requested one to be sent to my branch and held for me.

We watched The Man Who Fell To Earth on FreeVee.

Two interesting things about it from my perspective were:

1. There were no commercials run during the entire movie.

2. Having seen the movie when it was originally in the theater I remembered bits and pieces, most what stayed with me through the years was the audio system that used a small golf ball size item as the source. I remember thinking about how would that be done, and how far in the future would it be?

As we were watching the movie things that I'd forgotten did spark recognition, until the sex scenes. I told my wife the only sex scene I recall was an alien sex scene with David Bowie and his wife on their home planet , all the rest I had no memory of. Not only fairly graphic sex scenes, but some other things that took a fair bit of screen time were complete mystery to me.

Later in the evening I was look at the IMDB to see what I knew some of the actors from, the ones I didn't know their names and came to find out the reason I didn't remember them, was they weren't in the US theater version of the movie. About 20 minutes of the movie had been cut and what was left some of the scenes were in a different order or footage was used that shot the scenes from a different view point. I found it somewhat reassuring that at least I haven't completely cracked up.
