Manic Depression/Bipolar Disorder

I suffer from Major Depression and Bipolar and with my fast spreading cancer, my mother just passing away and surgey tomorrow and migraine headaches. I'm feeling a bit down but trying hard to stay positive. However I must admit, I'm also considering if it's even worth seeking additional treatment. I'll take it day by day.

@Oldeagle66

You must be a very strong person, to stay positive through all you're going through.
My condolences on the passing of your mother .. may her soul rest in peace.
I will keep you in my thoughts, and wish a good outcome with your surgery tomorrow.

Hubby's son now 45 years old, I believe, was diagnosed at 16 Bipolar.
He has a history of thinking he can just stop his medications or self medicate.
He has had several not so good episodes where he's been admitted for 1-6 weeks for doing that very thing.
then has to begin all over.

Just recently he's doing it again after a few years of not attempting to go off meds.
Has anyone had this problem. He gets so argumentative with his dad if dad does not agree
he just needs to stop all the pills. It hurts to watch Hubby so worried like this.
We near St Louis and his son in Boston.

Cannot help, but can identify with your issue...my ex wife was
bipolar all her life, died a few months ago, frequently went off
medication, caused a lot of turmoil, and our divorce in the end,,,,her mother was also bipolar, but not as severe as the
daughter.....best of wishes for all involved...don

OMG. This is not about me, but I was diagnosed with MDD/PTSD. I've never been told about Bipolar symptoms or diagnosis at that. I just want you to know I will be thinking about you always. Please let all of us know how your surgery went and what we can do to possibly keep you uplifted. I have to admit, you're deep in thought on my end. You know? There are so many wonderful people on this site. I wish they were my immediate neighbors on our own block. I wish I lived near you to help comfort you at this time. Tis true.
