weell I hope he gets back to you very quickly...

Heard back from cardiologist office. He said to check out the price on Predaxa and Eliquis with my insurer. They don't do Predaxa and Eliquis would run $594.49 per month. That is $20.94 more than the original Xarelto. They gave me more numbers to call. I have little faith but I will try.

After my immune system successfully defeated the sinus head cold, first head cold in 7 years since retiring, Sunday, I spent the next 3 days celebrating a bit, especially binging on chocolate, with last night up till 2am so arose late after 9am this Thursday morning. Got right up and drove one mile over to my bank and took care of renewing a 7 month CD at 3.75% or 1.0% less than the previous one. Some smaller banks are offering 0.75% more but tis chump change.

Then picked up my 5 year old skis from a nearby sports shop that had performed a premium machine automated tune and wax for $80. Back home cut out triangles and circles from diffraction grating sheets that I added to the skis for a custom look I can easily notice. Will likely be out Tahoe skiing again after this coming weekend.

Also yesterday evening received a CDC free COVID-19 test kit with 4 test packets I'd ordered last week. So will sacrifice one to run a new test. And paid my $$$ auto insurance bill for the next 6 months that is twice what it was a decade ago.

twice the cost afte a decade is totally understanable.. but double the cost in 12 month without using any of their services..which is the quote I got today from the ( AA).. is diabolical

I made the impromptu decision while I was up in the middle of the night to go food shopping, even though I've been trying to avoid the extreme cold. So after prayer time I made sure to put on street clothes so I wouldn't get lazy and change my mind. I went about 9:45. After putting the food away, I heated and ate part of the Banquet Mega Bowls chicken and mac & cheese entree I decided to try, had a Friendly's mini sundae, watched a little T.V., and wound up falling asleep until 6:15. I hadn't even changed into my house clothes, something unusual for me.

I was supposed to go to a funeral this evening, but thinking it would be snowing before we left and until we came home like predicted, I "un-planned" attending. Turns out it didn't snow. Had I known that, maybe I would have roused myself to change clothes and go. The deceased was a neighbor that I really never interacted with, but her children and my son grew up playing together and remained friends for all these years.

I connected with her children on Facebook, regularly interact with and play Words With Friends with her daughter, who was so supportive of us when my DIL died. And her son just told me and my son after all these decades that he had wished I'd given him piano lessons. My plans to make chili also went out the window since I woke up late.
😒

Good thing I checked my texts before sleep last night. I had an ultra sound appointment today with the vascular and vein people. That appointment was made a year ago and forgotten. I have PAD (peripheral artery disease) in my legs. Some ailments have a name. others are just old age. We will go over the results next week.

It is the same here with auto insurance. Same company and a fender bender so far back they have no record of it. Were we to have Uber it might be cheaper than insuring my garage queen.

OMG...that's outrageous! One of my cardiologists prescribed Eliquis about a year ago. Thank God with my retiree benefits from the state of N.J., that contracts with OptumRX, I pay only $28 for a three month supply of Eliquis. Have you tried GoodRX? Walgreen's site is set up to give GoodRX discounts. I found out because after I suggested he try GoodRX, my son used it to get discounts on his eyedrops, which were much more expensive. He said he went to Walgreen's Pharmacy tab, then Get Discounts (or similar wording) and the GoodRX option came up.

Also, Walmart and Costco have discount pharmacies. From what I understand, you don't have to be a Costco member to use their pharmacy. I also see ads by certain drug companies (don't remember which) that say if you can't afford the meds, that certain drug they will help with the cost. Is there a generic for Eliquis? And lastly, see if your doctor has samples he can give you. My PCP is trying me on a different diabetes drug and gave me a couple of months of samples to see if I can tolerate it before prescribing.

I think I might be in the bad books with my DD tomorrow...

It's 2.30am here, and was sitting here adding new numbers to my phone and accidentally called her... she of course is sound asleep..or was..... poor DD..I woke her up . I was mortified... I'd tried to stop the phone from ringing but she'd already answered it...

She very groggily asked if I was ok..I said yes.. I couldn't apologise enough... I feel terrible waking her up at such a late hour when she has to be up for work at 5.30am

It happens, but you still feel bad about it.

It's 07.17 am and still dark and so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I feel like I have been hibernating since Christmas and, it's time to get back to earlier mornings and my exercise routine so, the bike has been dusted off and my headphones are charged.

Have a fabulous Friday everyone :)

An interesting day yesterday. We were going to see 'Chicago' at His Majesty's theatre in Aberdeen, travelling by bus as it's free for us ancients.
We were early and as the bus stop is outside Tesco, we lad a browse inside. There were loads of heavily reduced food items including frozen turkeys, lamb joints and whole shelves of chocolates and other sweets. We couldn't carry them to the theatre and back, but we planned to drop in on the way back.

The show was excellent except when the safety curtain was dropped early in the second act. There were a few apologetic messages, but no explanations and the show continued after about 10 mins. Then it was off to the bus stop to get the bus back home however there had been a minor accident somewhere and the bus was delayed.

We arrived back at Tesco and went in search of bargains. Still quality frozen turkeys and meat at rock bottom prices, so we bought two turkeys which are in our freezer at home. As for the chocolates and sweets - NOT one to be had. This must say something about the local eating habits.

Looks like a good day here, so might get some washing out and dried.

I don't think you were meant to go out yesterday, Capt....:D

I had a text yesterday giving me a hopsital appointment for an entirely unrelated matter to my upcoming surgery.

there was no appt time on the text.. so as the appt is for this coming Tuesday, I've had to call the hospital to find out.

When I called at 12.50pm I was told I'm number 48 in the queue. Here I am at 1.30pm now, and I'm only at number 24 😖

You'll never guess what I just did ....😩😩😩

I got up to make a cuppa tea while waiting in the queue.... took the phone ( landline ).. with me downstairs, made the tea, went down to number 17 in the queue while I was in the kitchen.. came back upstairs with the tea and the phone.. and without thinking put the phone back in it's cradle... cutting myself off !😭

I've had to call back.. and now I'm back in the queue at number 30....🥺

I finally got the plumber to have a look at my central heating boiler. I know the guy. He lives in the village, his premises are a couple of minutes walk from me, but getting him to visit was a real struggle. Not good, he said that at 19 years old, the boilers were inclined to wear out and leak. I had planned to get the boiler replaced in spring, but it now looks like being much sooner. Hopefully I will get a quote for the work. I would prefer to keep the work local rather than find a company from further away. As I was told years ago, always use local tradespeople . If they do a bad job in the morning, everyone will know by the afternoon.

@Babs2u
I also take Farxiga & Eliquis. Your plight makes me very angry. I remember a time when I had to choose between meds & rent. It's far in my background but I'll never forget it. Our system stinks.

Going to Library Book Club today, but not looking forward. There was a nasty incident a month ago. I can't retell the tale without anger toward the librarian pretending to be in charge........I can't retell the story without greatly upsetting myself, and that's a road I am refusing to go down. I can't do that to myself ever again. I am carrying Precious Cargo---ME. Protecting my mind is my highest priority. Protect Me At All Costs..........

Anyway, will leave here 2:30..............Son interrupted just now with phone call. He hasn't heard from me, checking up to see if I'm alive.

I'm lucky.

No-one's going to believe this..I'm finding it hard to believe myself..this has never happened before..

It's now 2.23pm... I was number 9 in the hospital phone queue after waiting for an hour and a half....... when suddenly a text came in on my mobile at 2.19pm..saying this.....
