Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I saw a show on Tubi awhile back called Nikita and while I watch Tubi quite often (it's an excellent free streaming service) I found a full series DVD box set at a Winco grocery store for $7, so I bought it. I'm about half way through season 2 at the moment. I'm bad at descriptions... So I'll just say it an action series about government assassins. If that sort of thing appeals to you, give it a whirl. It's a well done series that was broadcast on the CW, I think.

[Landman series] I was highly anticipating this series because I'm a big Billy Bob Thornton fan, and also because the setting and story sounded very appealing.

But after 5 episodes it's not as impressive as I'd hoped. Thornton IMO is the sole reason to watch this series. He's perfectly suited to his part, and he usually hits it out of the park in his scenes. His son Cooper is an appealing character, as is the young widow, Ariana, who Cooper looks after.

I simply can't understand the emphasis put on BBT's idiot narcissist ex wife, and their total air head daughter. Perhaps some find them humorous, but to me they're both a detraction from the show, especially the ex wife.

The series is half way completed, so nothing much may change. And if it gets good reviews, like other Taylor Sheridan shows, there will probably be a second season.
We finished up the series last night with its 2 hour finale. Overall it was a high quality series, with the exception of the criticism above concerning Tommy Norris' (BBT) over the top narcissist ex wife and idiot daughter. Demi Moore is effective as the boss's wife.

In the main, the scenes with the aforementioned two gals in them were very weak and off-pitting, whereas the scenes with BBT and the other cast members were very well done. Throughout, BBT gives award winning performances. Between him and the basic story design, Landman is an exceptional series.

It was also refreshing to hear the dialogue explaining the necessity of oil with its myriad products, and refuting the ubiquitous green mentality.

There was a slightly artistic ending to the first season, but that will segue nicely into season 2, which will be filming early this year. I'll look forward to it in the Fall.

Currently binge watching Goosebumps: The Vanishing on Disney/Hulu+. Not a fan of David Schwimmer (ever watched Friends), but luckily he doesn't "carry" the series. The young people are equally as important to the plot. There was one scene I closed my eyes for; I could deal with the rest of the grossness. I found out this is actually considered Pt 2 of the Goosebumps series. When I finish this, probably tomorrow, I will go back and see Pt 1

I tried watching this, but after the first few episodes it was just... too CW for me. I couldn't keep watching this soapy thing.

Far superior in my opinion:

Amazon Prime Video

Like your new avatar, MIss Diva!..(y)

I finished Goosebumps: The Vanishing and started Goosebumps, which is considered Part 1 of the series. This one has 10 episodes. The Vanishing only had 8. The latter was pretty decent.

Loved that series.

You should try and watch the origanal French film Nakita made around 1990

I have 8 services some free, some not. Hard to keep track, but do watch some, others are hit & miss. Lately I've been watching the female lead in 'Revenge' movies. One I wouldn't recommend is Kevin Costner's latest.

The Listeners (2024)

4 episodes, BBC, on certain streaming services.
The first 2 episodes caught my interest, expecting some sort of SciFi or paranormal story. But instead it slowed practically to a crawl, and morphed into presumably an anit-cult drama.

I couldn't really recommend it, but the obvious highlight was the stunning acting of Rebecca Hall (who puts me in mind of Carol Burnett). She displayed a full range of emotions in a difficult part to bring off. It's almost worth watching just to see her performance.

If you like British shows I can highly recommend Last Tango in Halifax & Happy Valley, the latter is a police series not what you would deduce from the title. That’s if you can get iPlayer, not sure outside the UK.
On Prime Clarkson’s Farm is really good.

I’m almost at the end of Lockerbie, one episode to go, on Sky
