Is the world getting really hard to understand?

Me four! I also go on Google Streetview and preview any new route, type up in a large, dark font, the important points, stretches, landmarks, rest stops and interchanges. I print out my notes and tape them to the dash near the steering wheel. As I progress on my journey, I stop and remove each page. It works great for me. I'm really ancient with that! 😂 I haven't come to like any GPS. That talking is distracting to me. It often will lead you on unnecessary routes. In most cities this will be the city bus route when you can actually go straight to your destination. I've heard it leads people to dead ends or to nowhere. More power to those who find it indispensable, though. 💪🏽🚙
Only use the large trucker GPS. ... 40 years ago all you heard on the NEWS was nuclear war.
Then all you are hearing are invaded and Nuclear War.

Now I hear Arkansas has more White gold than anywhere else, but it requires a lot of maintenance.

The more we insist on clinging to the past, the more complicated and frustrating the world seems.

I would probably be better off if I was content to accept things as they are and adjust my thinking.

Sticking with cars as an example, It would probably be simpler to accept the fact that the technology, maintenance, repairs, etc… are beyond my comprehension and lease a new car every three years instead of my old habit of buying new and squeezing every drop of life out of it over a 10-15 year period.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that as the world changes we need to examine our beliefs and adjust our thinking to change with it, easier said than done. 😉🤭😂

While there are advantages to using a computer, such as ordering supplies or banking, I am so very tired of hearing that my info was compromised on the dark web. I can't keep up with all the data breaches, so I have frozen all credit bureaus and let Social Security know that my SS number is also compromised. I do miss the old days in that respect, not nowadays when everyone needs to know your SS number.

Case in point
Ai having a huge input.
My estate agency has adopted AI as it's first point of reference to report maintenance issues where I rent.
I used the service, reported the problem, AI stated how I could fix the problem.
It then stated, "Issue resolved, case closed"
It assumed that telling me how to fix the problem then the problem would be rectified.
No other option was available. Case closed.
I rang the estate agent and stated the issue was not resolved simply because Tapi -(AI) said so.
A plumber is needed to attend the premises.

I actually like the folded maps and have quite a few. I don't even mind getting lost.
I have a lot of friends who took a long time to make the transition to GPS, and I understand the feeling of not knowing where you are without a map. Some argue with the GPS, insisting it must be wrong. Of course, knowing where you are is unnecessary with a GPS. The GPS always knows, much better than we do.

However, I have been sent up dead end roads with a GPS, and when a new interchange is built that isn't on the GPS yet, it can be unsettling, although that is true with outdated maps also. But I understand. I just find it a relief not having to know where I am, but that didn't happen right away. It's like a parent taking away your "blankey." :)

Bretrick, what is an estate agency please?

Ummm . . . riiiight? Most of the time I only use my Garmin GPS to monitor my estimated time of arrival. I already know exactly how to get where I'm going. Many, many times GPS has given utterly nonsensical/impossible driving directions.

As a generally useful resource? Yes. As a reliable resource? Pffft! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Here's how I'm getting through the insanity:
The world has become someone's cartoon. We are all forced into it. It takes place in Gotham and stars such characters as Penguin and Lex Luthor, a wealthy oligarch. World Wide Entertainment (WWE) wrestling writes the script. That's what the world is now, a psychotic delusion. If I described this phenomenon more I'd get in trouble.
Yep, I can relate to your analogy. I am so glad that Batman arrives on Monday. He will clean up this mess. :)

William Butler Yeats put it well...

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

I noticed that people tend over think everything now. Even the smallest problems with the shortest steps are drawn out and making people nuts.
We have noticed younger people who own homes in our neighborhood have no clue how to solve things and are constantly asking for input for the most minor things. After the Xs comes the Millennials. The Millennials and Zs seem to have lost their dogfighting skills!! It seems most would be a total loss without electricity, a toilet, running water, a natural disaster or a war.

When I was young I was a part of the change, now I am bystander trying to catch up with the changes that occur everyday. My elastic mind does not stretch as far as it used to or perhaps old data, stuff that was relevant at the time takes up too much space to adopt and express new data.
We had our time, now is no longer our's to claim.

Or it is time in a different form and feel. To "everything thing, turn, turn, turn,..." Each season however it is perceived has equal importance to life. I like the slowed down version better. :)

I have been saying this for 8 years now. We are LIVING in the Twilight Zone.
I agree with this. This is like a bad script I've been written into and cannot escape from. There are no more "everyday people" because that class was sold out long ago. Now there are billionaires and the great unwashed going at it daily while the government tries to keep us in line with invented crises. It's ridiculous and none of it feels real because its too relentless. :unsure:

The World isn't getting hard to understand but the US and its response to the world certainly is.
