Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I need to be watching new shows like I need a hole in the head. But I read an article about Wild Cards that had a very favorable review of a series. It is supposed to be one of Amazon Prime's highest rated shows, so I decided to check it out. Didn't finish the first episode yet, but I think this will be a keeper.

I also finally started watching Night Sky which has been on my Prime watchlist for quite awhile. It isn't as Sci-fi-ish as I expected but the writing is very good. Also J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek do an excellent job as an elderly couple, obviously very much in love, trying to take good care of each other despite the trials and tribulations of aging. Their interaction is what keeps me engaged. They discover a portal to another world in their shed.

If you like British shows I can highly recommend Last Tango in Halifax & Happy Valley, the latter is a police series not what you would deduce from the title. That’s if you can get iPlayer, not sure outside the UK.
On Prime Clarkson’s Farm is really good.

I’m almost at the end of Lockerbie, one episode to go, on Sky
Pendle, is that the one entitled: Lockerbie: A Search for Truth ? Reportedly there's another 6 part serial coming up, called simply "Lockerbie"

We've been watching Patience (2025), a 6 part series starring the charming Ella Maisy Purvis, who plays a police archivist. We also finished the 2 seasons of The Responder starring Martin Freeman, where he place a policeman in Liverpool. I needed the subtitles to understand much of the Liverpudlian accent!..;) I can't say I enjoyed the series, but yet it was very well done. Superb acting all around. To me a stand out was Emily Fairn, who plays a drug addict.

Kudos for Night Sky! It's an unusual story with superb acting. I'll say one thing: J.K. Simmons must be the busiest actor on the planet. Seems like he's in everything...😄

Are you watching Severence ? It's a good SciFi thriller series with a stellar dream cast. It's now in its second season.

Glad you enjoyed Night Sky. Remember when J.K. was doing those insurance commercials? I've been seeing the promos for Severance but haven't checked it out. Are you trying to add more "food" to my TV "plate"? :ROFLMAO: I'll likely check out the trailer and see if it makes me want more.

I discovered it too, love it. It's an opposites attract pairing, like 'Moonlighting' in the old days, or 'High Potential' also now.

Yesss!! Glad you are enjoying it Don. Funny you mention those two shows. I had started rewatching Moonlighting several months ago but stopped (temporarily) when Maddie leaves town for a while. Little did I know when the show first aired that "Brucie" would become one of my favorite actors. I am loving High Potential and am so happy it's been renewed for a second season. No surprise, it's that network's highest rated new show.

I was *so* disappointed they did not continue “Night sky” after season one…. Just a whole lotta things left hanging. 😔.

We are one episode away from wrapping up Missing You on Netflix. It is about a female British detective whose fiancee disappeared 11 years prior with no explanation. Her father, a policeman, was also murdered around the same time. It is about her search to find her boyfriend, who no longer has a digital footprint, and her father's killer.

I love shows with lots of twists and turns and this one has them. It is one of those shows that leaves you hanging after every episode so you want to see the next one.

I really enjoyed, Last Tango in Halifax too.

Yes, that’s the one Lockerbie: A Search for Truth .
I’ve got Patience on the Playlist to watch.
Didn’t really like the Responder. The accent was no problem, know Liverpool well & am used to the Scouse accent ( & humour😂) but found it a bit boring. He was much better in Line of Duty, another series I really recommend if you haven’t seen it.

Just a question, I tried to quote your post so you’d know I was replying to you, ChiroDoc, but when I press “Quote” it just gives a + or -, I know it must be me, doing something wrong.

At the moment I am watching on acorn an Australian production “The heart Guy” I am loving it, I find the characters very interesting in their interactions and very funny. It is so enjoyable and takes me away from all the madness that is going on in our world. At the present time. I watch mostly programs from the UK but Australia and New Zealand put on fine shows and the scenery is stunning.

I've had the same problem with the Quote function.

Broadchurch was good; I saw it a few years ago. There's a British (I think) version too and the same actor plays the lead in that one as well.
I was watching the British version, which was very good. Had no idea there was a US version. So on that. ;)

EDIT: Found it! It's called Gracepoint and Prime has it. Thank you, @OneEyedDiva

EDIT: So, I've watched two episodes and I'm not loving it, Gracepoint. The acting isn't great, except for the original actor from Broadchurch and Nick Nolte. Oh well.

I don't think you've seen this version, @OneEyedDiva?

I just finished watching "The God Committee" on Tubi.
Story: A organ committee has an hour to decide who will be the recipient of a heart transplant.
I thought it was pretty good. The subject was definitely interesting. The acting was quite good too. (Julia Stiles and Kelsey Grammer)
I love Kelsey Grammer in everything he does!

Right now watching Hometown Cha-cha-cha on Netflix. I'm on the second episode and really liking it. It's about a female dentist who struggles in every way in Korea. Down to earth people telling it like it is. There are about 14 more episodes in this limited series. I hope I don't change my mind!

Get Millie Black, on HBO. She is a native Jamaican who lived in England and comes back home for her transgender sister. Millie also is a cop. I like it because I love Jamaican accents. It's okay. Short, only five episodes.
