Scotch eggs are good but, not the ones you buy ready made in packs in the shops.

Soft or hard boil the eggs. You mix the sausage meat with herbs (chives, parsley, nutmeg or whatever you like), salt and pepper and English mustard. You roll out the sausage meat and wrap each egg in sausage meat. You then dip the egg in flour, egg and then breadcrumbs and fry until the sausage meat is brown and crisp. Alternatively, if you don't eat fried food, you can bake them. I recently discovered you can cook them in an air fryer which, I will be trying next time I make them. I usually make them in the warmer weather, they are great with salads. :)
Like a lot of things, if you try a store bought one first you may wonder why people like them However, if you had a homemade one you would love them.

Last night I lost my internet due to the storm.. had no internet all night and this morning still none...

I called my provider, and they said there's nothing they can do unless I know the password... well the password is my husband's P/w and I used to know what it was but he's been gone 3 years, so I completely forgotten... They said wthout the password, even tho' they can see what it is they can't help me...

Well God must have been on my side, because as I was waking this morning.. a Password came into my head.. and I called my BB providers, and again they asked for the password.. and I said I think it's X.. and they said do you know for sure, and I said No I've just explained to you the situation, that my husband and I have been seperated for 3 years, but this package is still in his name.. ( she kept talking over me ) Oh well she says, can't help you ( Indian Customer servce).. so I ask to speak to a supervisor.. she was the same..very unhelpful...I think it was the same person TBH

.... so I hung up and redialed .. this time I get a star player.. A man in India who is understandable ( the other 2 were hard to understand except their rudeness).. and very helpful.. So I tell I'm not certain but I think the P/W is X.. and he says BINGO.. that's it... so he was able then to see the problem was at the connection outside my house.. so he called the service guys, and they got here in 20 minutes... WoW!! very impressed..

he sayed on the phone with me for a whole hour until he was sure the repair was done and I had full service back !

He was also able to bring forward the change over to my name of my BB package from March until early february...

Today is a big grocery shopping day. I've been in use up mode and have used up a lot of holiday foods, expiring foods, etc.
Now I can restock with healthier stuff in line with New Year's better habits. Let's hope I don't have a heart attack on the way from all those goodies ! 😮 Nah, it wasn't THAT bad . 😊
I had also let a lot of frozen meat get pretty old. Not too old but "need to prepare now" mode.

This coming Sunday is family dinner so I need to start getting ready for that.
Haven't seen the grands since Christmas. Seems so long but it's just a bit over a month. I can tell by pictures the little boy has grown. He'll catch up to his sisters one of these days.

You're right! The corn has ears, and potatoes have eyes :ROFLMAO:
How do you come back so quick?! 😆 Were you a comedian in your former life? You crack me up sometimes.

@hearlady Well...there's my new source of extra income! I'll become a comedienne.

It's not too cold this morning and expected to be in the mid-50s and sunny today. Maybe I'll pry my bony butt off the sofa and move around outside.

If y'all will excuse me, I gotta gather my wits. It's a good thing The Hovel is so small; there aren't too many places to look for them.

The rain is steady again today , it was torrential during the night with high winds ...I've had to have the dehumidifier on in the barn 24/7 for the last 7 days.... to stop everything especially the freezer outer from getting soking wet...

Roads are completely flooded.... DD just text and said she was going to ring in her lunch hour, but it's pouring of rain ( she has to go outside of her workpace to make personal calls) ..and she's 2 hours north

Morning graygang....hope it is a great one for all....I feel
fairly well, in spite of awakeness at weird times, and some
pain issues....paying for walking down to mail box two days
in a row...ah well.....
This breathing business has got me a bit concerned tho, so
may try to see the air doctor soon...see what they recommend
at this point....got the health insurance peeps coming for a visit
with me tomorrow...someting new they visit you at home for
assessment (SENIORS) then give you 100 credit card.....
Okay got some few chores to do so catch u later on...oh we
are supposed to hit 50F today YAY!!! :):coffee:

Grandson had early finish from work today so came here and had dinner (midday) with me. As it's a bright and sunny day, we're heading off for a walk with the dog now. When we get back, no doubt we'll have a game of Scrabble and Cribbage. Granddaughter will be coming round after school when we'll be playing Ludo and dominoes. All good fun. :)

We should get up to 61°F/16°C this afternoon. There are soooo many things that I want to do outside! The bad weather has really put me behind. Unfortunately, none of it will happen if the ground is mushy and doesn't drain off.

Well, if I'm stuck inside, I can always watch Castle or Grimm. Both are old shows, but I haven't seen them. So far, enjoying both.

Speaking of enjoying.....
I hope everyone has a great day!

Yesterday, I couldn't;t go out to take my walks because of the high winds anywhere between 40-60mph,instead I walked the hallway a couple of times for exercise
This morning I woke up at 6:40 looked out my livingrm window see if the flag was moving, it wasn't. The temp was 25,a 'heat wave' compare to last week's temps in single digits as I walked 1 time around the building
I was happy to find both yesterday&today;s NYT by my door, which weren;t delivered yesterday. This is stupid when local paper, Bflo News does this. The paper no longer printed in Buffalo but in Cleveland, they also print NYT. The reason why the papers weren't delivered, due to the late Sun game Bills/ Kansas City they decided to get all the info for its subscribers just add more misery to die hard Bills fans{I'm not one of them}.I"m done venting now!
This morning at 10:30 go to our monthly dining rm committee meeting which is open to all residents, are encouraged to attend. The rest of my day read both NYT ,,may go out for another walk this afternoon. Tonight try to finish Mon's& today's NYT crossword puzzle

@Imogene No problem getting old at all because it only happens a day at a time. It's actually being old that's the problem.

Anyway, my idea about a car is that I'd have two things installed: remote start for heat and defroster in winter and a/c in summer before I get in and a GPS tracker. Tracker, yanno, so that if somebody decides to kidnap me or if I do end up in a cornfield in Kansas, I can be found without too much trouble.
Air tag will do fine. $10 at Amazon.

Cold and sunny out there.
Coffee first then decisions. Back to windows. As much as I love a lot of light - who came up with the idea of washing them? Did laundry last night and it should be dry.
I am familiar with the concept of wash machines eating socks but I lost a brand new pair of jeans. Tried them on and have not been able to find them. Time to put a bounty out? But I found a Nicky tunic and matching pants during the archeological explorations. Soft, warm and not too big!
SO disappeared in his lair with fruit salad, coffee and an IPad. Looks like zoom meetings. Be prepared to entertain yourself!
Almost Groundhog's Day!
